They dont know if its one or two sections. This pipe runs right through the intersection here of bradley boulevard and huntington parkway. They say theres six to eight inches of water that needs pumped out. The pump is working as hard as it can, but theres a lot of water in the hole they need to get out of there so they can get to this water main break and find out exactly what the problem is. We know its about a 60yearold plus water main break. That pipe down there. There are a number of residents in the community that are being affected, about 25 without water. The other real important thing to note here is i have asked when can we expect this to be fixed . They said its still too premature to say if this is going to be done by the evening commute which means it could cause headaches on the front end and on the back end. Police say that Joyce Mitchell hid hacksaw blades in meat. She backed out at the last moment and one of the inmates was killed, another captured. Mitchell faces up to seven years in prison. Also today, we expect new calls for witnesses to help solve a murder in Montgomery County. 60yearold Bradley Colmes was beaten outside his Montgomery Village townhouse on june 12th. He died in the hospital five days later. This afternoon the Montgomery County Police Director of major crimes and his family will again press people to come forward if they know anything. Thats a reward for information. Right now the police are searching for a driver in leesburg who hit a pedestrian and kept driving. Police say a man was crossing plaza street northeast when a pickup truck hit him. This happened during rush hour on monday night. The man was flown to inova fairfax. Police have released the picture of the man they believe hit the man. Witnesses say there was also a child riding in that truck. Today the Montgomery County Council Votes on a plan to slash more than 50 million from the budget. The Police Body Camera program, School Staffing and Library Hours are all on the chopping block. Montgomery county executive ike leggett said less tax money and a Supreme Court decision caused the deficit. This morning, the countys rules could be rewritten for alcohol. The council is urged to allow private businesses to sell certain kinds of beer and wine. Right now, alcohol is only sold at county owned liquor stores. Francesco daniele is accused of going shopping with her Government Credit card last year. Developing now, an investigation under way after a Baltimore Police officer shot a man during a traffic stop. Were told that it happened when police got a call about reports of a gun of gun fire. They came out patrolling the area, pulled over a car and then were told the driver of that car pinned the officer against his patrol car and that is when the officer fired. That suspect then were told tried to still get away after he was shot in the face. And then he gave himself up and warned Police Officers that he had a weapon. Officers are still searching for the shooter. We now know the name of man who stabbed a couple at a korean church. Song su kim confessed to the attack and according to Court Documents he wanted to retaliate against koreans. It happened two days ago at the anna prayer mountain church. The Montgomery County council is voting today on a plan to slash more than 50 million from the budget in Montgomery County. Ike leggett said that less tax money and a Supreme Court decision caused the deficit. The Body Camera Program and School Staffing hours are all on the chopping block. This morning the council can rewrite Montgomery Countys alcohol laws. Theyre allowing private stores to sell special order beer and wine. The Liquor Control Department has had trouble distributing the products to stores. A former nih employee now facing charges she went shopping with her Government Credit card. The Maryland States Attorney Office says Francesco Daniele went on a twoweek shopping spree last year. She is accused of spending more than 21,000 on electronics and food and clothing. Just a bit lower as highs will be in the low 90s. Theres a chance of an isolated storm tomorrow, but then a likelihood of afternoon storms on thursday. Thursday storms could be severe. Some of them could produce some damaging winds. Perhaps enough heavy rain to cause some flash flooding. Then a bit less humid friday and into the weekend. Still hot. Low to mid 90s each day. Metro says the Silver Spring Transit Center needs more work and more mownemone metro says its showing signs of degradation already. It is asking Montgomery County for more money. Theyre accusing metro of using it hostage. The three level commuter hub is three years behind schedule and 50 million overbudget. Right now the International Olympic committee is hosting a two day meeting to discuss upcoming games. Some are answers tough questions mostly about air pollution and a lack of snow. Beijing and kazakhstan are the only bidders for the 2022 games. The ioc will elect host cities for the games and the 2020 youth olympic winter games on friday.
