Doug and his brother daniel went missing after a swim off Cove Point Beach in lusby last night. Daniel browns body was pulled from the water this afternoon. His restaurant just posted a message on their facebook book saying, it is closed due to a, quote, death in the family. The Brown Brothers went under water after struggling to swim against the tide. Searchers believe that doug brown is dead and will resume search efforts to recover his body tomorrow. We will send you updates on the Recovery Efforts from our nbc washington app. New tonight, the family of a volunteer firefighter killed by a drunk driver is honoring her memory in a very special way. Autumn Marie Jenkins family says it is on an Urgent Mission to stop drivers from getting behind the wheel and killing someone you love. Nbc 4s Darcy Spencer is in our newsroom now with their emotional story as police crack down on impaired drivers. Reporter as you know, autumn was a volunteer firefighter and was starting a nonprofit Animal Rescue group. Her life was cut short last april. Her family knows they cannot bring her back but they want to make sure you know what can happen if you drink and drive. A dui checkpoint held in the heart of the city dedicated to a 20yearold who died after allegedly being hit by a driver who had been drinking. I have no problem with people who want to drink. But they shouldnt get behind the wheel and drive. Reporter tommy is autumns dad and says he hopes the checkpoint will educate drivers and send a message. Maybe well will able to remove them off the streets before they injure or kill someone. Reporter the family is here with this picture of autumn. They want to make sure drivers know what this checkpoint is all about. Jenkins was driving home from a restaurant when the crash happened last april. She was a volunteer with the fire station.
