The lyon sisters. Newly unsealed warrants reveal some of the evidence against the suspect lloyd welch. Welch cousin says he helped him get two large duffel bags from the trunk of a car in 1975. Reporter prosecutors said they are also investigating the possibility that lloyd welch may have been involved in other child abductions across the country. So they are retracing all of his steps, starting 40 years ago. Tracked welchs activities from the time that this abduction occurred through to when he was incarcerated. So yeah its were our investigators thats part of what theyve been doing all over the country. Reporter Court Records released today show investigators recovered bone fragments and remnants of a burned plastic bag on a hillside property in a remote section of Central Virginia where the welch family once had property. As onand mary lyon the parents of the two girls sat nearby and listened to prosecutors announce the murder charges the Montgomery County states attorney explained why the case is being prosecuted in virginia and not here in maryland. We think this is the best thing for the case. And people who are interested in bringing justice to the lyon family weve talked to john and mary. They know exactly why were doing it. The man at the center of the case, lloyd welch is already in prison he is serving time for sexually assaulting young girls in delaware and South Carolina in the 90s. Before that he had worked as a ride operator for a Carnival Company that traveled around the country and often worked in malls. Police arrested welch in 1997 on a number of sex charges. Last august he admitted to abusing his then girlfriends daughter. There is a spike in scams in virginia right now targeting hair stylist, local restaurants and dentists among other Small Business owners. The scammers call pretending for demonstrate onpower bill collector and threaten to cut electricity if there is not an immediate payment. The caller id says none onpower but the company says it is a total scam. We are pulling out all stops to let people know that demonstrate onnever calls a customer and demands a payment on the spot. It may sound like discrimination but they say it is legal and smokers have no grounds to reject. I think its going to surprise people particularly people who smoke but i think its the next step after testing for alcohol and drugs. Reporter in the state of maryland outs of 100 people 22 smoke. If a job applicant is rejected they will be given the opportunity to get treatment and reply for the job in six months. And if they test positive then they cant be hired. But we provide them all sorts of resources. We refer them to our tobacco treatment specialists. We get them help to help them quit. Reporter some former smokers appreciate the new policy. I dont want to be in any position where there is all this effort made to protect my health would be jeopardized. Reporter others feel Hospital Personnel should have personal choice. I smoked cigarettes a long time ago. Reporter and you think thats a personal choice . Yes, absolutely. Reporter would you want to be disqualified from a job because you smoke . Thats a good question. No i would not. Im not a smoker myself but i feel if somebody wants to do that they can do it on their breaks. I dont think it should be discriminate for not getting a job.
