All right. Thank you. Tonight there is great hope and deep skepticism after nearly two years of negotiations produced an agreement to reign in Irans Nuclear program. President obama calls it an opportunity to move in a new direction but he will surely face a fight in congress. Chris is here to break down the deal. U. S. Officials believe iran was just a few months away from building its First Nuclear bomb. This deal pushes back that time line more than a decade. Heres what we know. Certain limits for at least ten years. It would keep them from producing enough material to make nuclear weapons. But there will be new provision for inspections. They will get billions of dollars of relief and some say it will allow iran to rebuild its terror networks. Lawmakers can vote to approve or reject the deal. I will remind congress that you dont make deals like this with your deals. I am confident that this deal will meet the National Security interest of the United States and our allies. The deals that we have out there in my view, from what i know thus far is unacceptable. Its going to hand a dangerous regime billions of dollars in sanctions relief while paving the way for a nuclear iran. Were learning more about how this deal could affect you personally. Iran is a big oil producer. If sanctions are lifted that could add hundreds of thousands of barrels a day to worldwide reserves. That could drop the price of gas to 2 a gallon by the end of the year. Next wednesday marks one year since Iranian Police locked up a Washington Post reporter. His name is jason rezaian. He is the post bureau chief. Iran eventually charged him with espionage and distributing propaganda. He strongly denies those charges. Tonight the executive editor and families renewed their calls for his release. Reporter this is one of several cases that really put pressure on leaders to come up with stiff penalties for lawbreakers. They go fast and furious through streets and neighborhoods. Give them a license to drive them and let them drive them. But atvs, mopeds and dirt bikes are illegal and some residents want city leaders to give police clear orders. They cant chase them and i support that. It creates more of a risk for innocent bystanders. But what we have seen the dirt bike riders who are intimidating pedestrians and other vehicles and its something that needs to be stopped. If youre caught in any public space with your illegal bike you could go jail. A 250 fine or both. And more jail time for the third offense. 1,000 dollar fine. It is for the bike. If you not going provide me with anything to take it somewhere else, why i got register it . It sounds like a worthy deal. And this comes just weeks after a dc reporter was gunned down in southeast and police belief the shooter or shooters were on dirt bikes at the time and got away. Several steps to go before this becomes law and about 30 minute ace go dc police sent a statement saying they will speak about this during a public hearing on this. Tonight more local Police Departments are moving ahead with plans to equip officers with body cameras. Hi david. And they tell me picking out the actual cameras really a small part of a very complex process. The bigger challenge for them . Storing all that data and figuring out how to secure it. For most of us have to understand, for green tech usa its the language they used when talking about storing police evidence. Digital evidence has to be recorded in a way and handled in a way such that is immutable. It cant be challenged in court saying the data has been deleted or edited or altered. That evidence coming from body cameras. Hes got larger ones like this one here. Hes got shade that you can put on. The camera here . Right in the middle. The body camera captures the data immediately and it would go wirelessly up into the cloud. Need to be able to deal with it. An average officer working maybe a 10 hour shift could bring in wo and a half to three gigs of data. If you take that and multiibly it by what we have. Making it early stages crucial. What we would like to do if our board approves is have some of these technology pieces over the fall and early winter. Officers in maryland are already using body cameras. Dc has about 400 of the cameras right now and they could add another 1200 by the end of the year. For a second time now congressional leaders from maryland are asking the federal government to declare ball moore a disaster area. It is to get the city to pay mounting bills from unrest back in april. It says the facts speak for themselves. Baltimore had to spend a lot of money and spend it quickly in april. Among the many bills that baltimore is facing at least 1. 6 million to pay the bills of other Police Departments to help during the unrest. City officials tell the news 4 i team that the city will have to tap out its Rainy Day Fund with no firm plan on how to replenish it. City officials and Community Activists and homeowners all say they did appreciate the extra help from the neighboring Police Departments. They were not cheering but in our heart we knew we need these people here. State of maryland and officials tried asking the federal Management Agency for a disaster declaration. Asking to pay for civil unrest was inappropriate. We asked for comment on the request to pass along as soon as we get it. And it will review marylands request. First thing is she talked to the chief of police about making sure that they are dealing with metro officers in the city. Secondly she has Board Members that she has appointed to the board and ask where are the police. There are not many of the 500 of them. But maybe there needs to be more Police Presence around this very busy metro system. More than a Million People ride the system every day. Whats the message . I think the message is that this is a spike in crime. The system is safe. People should be able to ride without fear that something is going happen. She met today the mayor met with the governor of virginia. Its a challenging problem. Its just so important that the metro is such a huge bonding agent for this entire region. Tough to manage with all of the government. What about she has comments about donald trump news about immigrants. She took a very firm stance on the radio station. Some people dont want that hotel on pennsylvania avenue to be built under his watch. Its a critical development. She wants trump to apologize and walk back those words. On july 1, a new policy was put in effect. New hires must be nonsmokers. They are tested for tobacco use. If a job applicant is rejected they will be given the opportunity to get treatment and reapply for the job in six months. We give them help to help them quit.
