That shooting is just a mile abray from the know away from the nomagallaudet metro station. And news4s Megan Mcgrath has more details on the shooting. Megan . Reporter well eun, you can see behind me here that investigators are still here on thscene. They have got the block still cordoned up here. This is the 900 block of third street here at the intersection of third i. One person is dead. An adult male shot to death. This happened after 10 00 last night and the search for the gunman is still on going. Now, not a lot of information has been released, not a lot of information to go on at this point. It was just a little bit after 10 00 that shots rang out here in northeast washington. One person hit, one person dead. Not a really great description of the suspect theyre looking for. But theyre looking for witnesses. Anyone who may have been in the area. If you saw something or heard something, police want to hear from you. No word on the identity of the person who was killed. Less than a mile away a shooting inside the flats 130 apartment on m street as people worry about their safety. Management sent residents an email saying that a man had been shot. Private security will patrol the building. It is steps from the nomagallaudet metro station where a man was stabbed to death on the fourth of july. The victim will be laid to rest today. Kevin sutherland will be buried in connecticut where he grew up. Sutherland was stabbed more than 30 times on a train at the noma metro station earlier this month. You can see his friends and family held a separate service to remember him yesterday. Sutherland was 24 years old. 6 03 right now. Today, d. C. Police are holding a Community Meeting to talk about synthetic drug use thats on the rise. And they believe its contributing to crime. A Howard County fire captain is recovering after falling through a floor. He was working this house fire in laurel. This was on river brink court. The captain fell through the floor and burned his hand grabbing a glowing hand rail. The heat from the fire was so intense it damaged the side of a home 50 feet away. No word on how it started. The Family Living inside that house did get out safely. A firefighter passed out after fighting a fire at vfw post in front royal, virginia. This was saturday afternoon. The firefighter spent the night in hospital. The colonel sam millar building was destroyed in the fire. Officials say the damage is estimated at half a million dollars. The atf is now investigating. And take a look at this scene. That small plane made an Emergency Landing on ain road near the jersey shore. The plane belongs to a skydiving school there. They got here, found a man with stab wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he died. I want you i want you to look over here also at a field. They were walking around, they were looking in the grass. They were looking beyond the fields here. Looking for clues to try to put this all together. So right now, thats the question.
