What is the latest on this . Reporter well jim, investigators are trying to get to the bottom of what happened here. Like you said it was a bad fire and one person died and two other people had to jump from the second store write windows from the porch balcony on to the ground and they are now in the hospital and the person inside was trapped and screaming to help. Viewer video shows us firefighters working through thick smoke but neighbors say before they arrived this home on new kirk street was fully engulfed and they heard screams for help inside. Roddy corbett was one of them. I heard the screams and we got down here and saw the house engulfed in flames and fire and smoke from every window. Corbett tried to get inside. And save the person calling for help. Jumped to the second floor window and smoke was coming out the window and i ripped down the screen and opened the window and tried to call for someone to come to the window and let them know it was open. Good but with thick smoke pouring out of the home he couldnt get in. And called out one last time for the person inside to come to him but it didnt happen. Nobody came but i still heard the scream and the lady was in there. Right now fire officials confirm one person was killed and two others managed to escape by jumping from the porch balcony. But corbett says that a woman lives there and was older and needed help to get around. She needed a cane to get around. And he is heart broken to see such tragedy today. The Montgomery County man accused of beating the two children and assaulting his wife pleaded guilty today. They say that joseph miry abused his children over the period of six years and shocked them with an electric dog collar and jammed small blades under their fingernails. Three Camden County officers are on desk duty after authorities investigate an arrest caught on camera.
