Matt pelman he update for us on this friday. Hey, matt. Scary stuff here this evening around eakins oval brian and sharrie. And i hadentioned this a few mentioned during the last half hour problems on the mlk drive. With the ramp from eakins oval to get to the outbound Martin Luther king jr. West river drive, theres the truck. Kind of a wide shot here. But if we zoom in theres the truck right there under the overpass on blocking off that ramp from eakins oval to go outbound on to mlk. Get on the kelly outbound instead or brave the crowd on the westbound side of the schuylkill expressway although it is very, very busy this afternoon but because of this truck on its side blocking the ramp from eakins oval tooutbounk is closed from eakins oval out towards sweetbriar drive. To the maps, talk about that and other issues were watching this afternoon on the big picture including a crash in mount airy creche shouldnt valley drive at lincoln drive. Speeds dropping onhe highways on a busy friday afternoon and were watching a pair of disabled vehicles on the vine street expressway. One of thems right here eastbound side and there it goes, the Police Officer escorting him off eastbound side approaching eighth street all lanes just reopening but up ahead there is still one on the rampo go north 95. Going to be one of those saturday nights to light the fireplace. Thats what i plan on doing. Pop a cork and sit back and relax and watch the snowfall especially north and west. The problem here is the bad timing. The heaviest of the storm is between 7 00 p. M. And 9 p. M. Saturday evening when people want to be traveling around and it could be snowing half an inch, an inch per hour where it stays as snow so that is the issue. Lets head over to the Weather Center chat about this. Its especially in our northwestern suburbs from philadelphia where that snow is going to be an issue saturday evening into saturday night. Were talking chesternty, bucks county, all points up into the Lehigh Valley and poconos. This is where we expect the heaviest snowfall to occur and those totals and its one of those heavy wet snows. Take this storm much like a late march snowstorm. As we look at storm tracker6 live double scan, the rain that was in philadelphia in the last half hour its gone now so this is a cold front swinging to the south off the coast and thats whats going to be ushering in this very cold air overnight tonight setting up that ingredient for snow for the next storm. Right now 51 allentown reading 52, 54 in dover. Winds continue to funnel in and all this is attached, the same storm we have right now, the boundary drapes down into the Desert Southwest and this is the storm that will be cutting across the deep south and gaining momentum and strength and again its not a large storm, its not going to last that long but its going to pack a punch in a very short window of time. So, for tonight, rain ends and then it turns sharply colder. In fact, by morning were going to wake up into the 20s areawide. As you look at future tracker at 9 oclock in the morning, freezing in millville, 29 allentown, reading, 28 degrees in lancaster. And as the clouds arrive, it caps that temperature so we it past the mid and upper 30s here. Tomorrow afternoon. And then as we get into the Late Afternoon early evening hours, at 5 30 it is snowing across much of the area, rain south of millville where we wont see much in the way of snow accumulation there. 8 oclock, this is when well see those snowfall rates half an inch, an inch per hour of it coming down and accumulating on the roads especially philadelphia to the north and west. This is your rainsnow line. The question is how far north does it actually get. Well have to see with the track of the storm but its going to be somewhere near wilmington and philadelphia, it stays all snow to the north and west and then its gone just after midnight and then sundays a sunny beautiful day. So, how much to expectallwise . N Cape May County and sussex county. Kent county delaware and then interior south jersey, millville, dover, a coating to an inch. One to 3 inches of snow between wilmington, salem, glassboro philadelphia. Where is the 3inch line . This is the 3inch line, this is the 1 inch line so philadelphias kind of right in between but again, we have to watch the track of this storm cause all this could shift a little south or it could still shift a little bit north but this is what were thinking right now and most of southeastern pennsylvania three to 5inches of snow. Big weekend for ski resorts. Theyre going to get snow here as we get into saturday night, 31 degrees saturday dry, mostly sunny. And two days back to back with record tying and breaking warmth. 70 tuesday, 73 on wednesday with some late day rain and were back into the 50s, not as warm but still above average thursday into friday, so that snow is not going to last. We begin with developing news right now. More than a dozen russian nationals have been indicted on charges related to meddling in the 2016 u. S. Elections. That announcement was made late this afternoon by Deputy Attorney general rod rosenstein. The 13 russians include a businessman close to vladimir putin. Now, the indictment says the suspects took part in an elaborate plot to interfere in the elections through social media propaganda aimed in part at helping donald trump and harming the prospects of hillary clinton. The indictment is the most direct allegation of russian meddling during the campaign but it stopped just short of saying that the Trump Campaign actively participated. There is no allegation in this indictment that any american was a knowing participant in this illegal activity. There is no allegation in the indictment that the charge conduct altered the outcome of the 2016 election. A short time ago President Trump reacted to the indictments on twitter. He claimed vindication saying his campaign did nothing wrong followed by the words no collusion. Our other big story tonight is an accuweather alert. It felt like spring today but Winter Weather is making a big come back this weekend. Meteorologist cecily tynan tracking a storm that could bring snow to parts of our area tomorrow. Thats right. Its all about location, rick. Whats happening right now, its not snow, its rain.
