New this morning, a philadelphia sheriffs deputy is getting over being in a crash. His unmarked vehicle was hit by another car on the 2300 block of North Woodstock street in north philadelphia just before midnight overnight. The deputy didnt need medical attention but the other driver suffered a head injury and had to be taken to the hospital. And a teenager has been shot. He was just standing on the street in West Philadelphia. A lot of questions about what happened here. So lets go over to action News Reporter Jeanette Reyes. Police say a 17yearold boy was shot once in the hip while standing on that corner. Hawpe brought to penn presbyterian by private car where he was listed in Critical Condition. The scene was taped off for the better part of the evening while police collected whatever evidence they could find but this morning, they are not sharing at lot they are not sharing it with us, with the public. No word on a suspect description or a motive. But of course the investigation is ongoing. Well let you know as soon as we get new information. As of last night, a person of interest was being questioned at police headquarters. The 68yearold victim was found in her bedroom yesterday afternoon on the 7100 block of oxford avenue. Investigators discovered three knives at the scene. However, sources tell action news the victim may have been hit over the head. Police say the person being questioned is an acquaintance of the victim. Super bowl parade and party may be over but police are still looking for fans who behaved badly and they are using videos and pics to help in their search. Philadelphia Police Released a cache of photos and videos asking for your help to identify the rowdy fans. Some are seen carrying light poles or stealing signs. Other video depicts people jumping on a white corvette of a woman who was attending the eagles parade. Police vow to track down and prosecute those responsible for the vandalism and thefts. Happening today, christians will be observing the start of lent with Ash Wednesday but some people wont need to go to church to get their ashes. Instead the ashes are coming to them. Couple of long range models beginning to take two features that were just going to stay separate. They didnt like each other on the models about 24 hours ago. They were just going to kind of split the difference to the north and south and not do too much with us. Now these models are bringing these two together. That makes for a more robust storm. It will be rain down in the Southern States but by the time it gets here it could be close enough where it draws in a little cold air and saturday night into sunday morning there is the chance of some snow before a changeover to rain. This should be arriving saturday evening, done real early sunday morning but, you know, a few inches of accumulation would be possible in places that see all the snow. Course where that rain line sets up is going to be pretty important. Could be that philadelphia just gets mainly rain out of it. A 27yearold man is in Critical Condition after a shooting at a gas station. Someone opened fire at the sunoco at fifth street and erie avenue in the citys hunting park section last night. Police taped off a vehicle with a shattered passenger side window. It was stopped in front of a Street Vendor selling valentines day gifts and had significant front end damage. So far police have not said if the victim was shot while in that sedan. Fire damaged a least two homes and a parked car in Delaware County last night. Fire broke out on a home on concorde road in darby borough. Crews have not said what started the blaze. Trenton is taking a high tech approach to rid the city of an estimated 30,000 crows. The u. S. Agriculture department began to try to scare the birds away yesterday. Wildlife officials are using pyrotechnics, lasers, spotlights and amplified recordings of crows in distress. The birds have become a growing nuisance for businesses and residents over the last couple of years. Its very frustrating when i have a friday night, next thing i know here comes the crows. And then its mostly cloudy tomorrow but even milder with temps getting up into the 60s. Now weve been talking about how temperatures do go down on friday and saturday. Some models over the last 24 hours have taken two features that really look like they were going to stay separate and not do too much to us this weekend. Now getting together and forming a more significant storm and as that comes toward the east it would be able to generate more precipitation if this scenario works out. And its cold enough where we might see on saturday evening and then overnight sunday some snow before a potential change to rain with milder air potentially working its way in. Wherever this rain to snow line sets up though that will be key. If it comes up to philadelphia we wouldnt get much accumulation here. If it stays to the south we could get two or 3inches out of this. It doesnt look like a major snowfall as of right now and theres always the chance that this kind of breaks up again on the models but for now saturday night into early sunday morning would be a time period to watch for some possible snow maybe mixing with some rain. 53 degrees is your high today. And the only precip were looking at is those showers coming in later in the evening hours. Then tomorrow cloudy but very mild, 65 degrees. And again, at night theres some rain arriving. Three applebees worker stand accused of racial profiling are now out of a job. Customer Alexis Brison posted video of a confrontation in missouri. She sounds shaken and upset while speaking to a police officer. She approached brison and a friend when an applebees staff member accused the women of skipping out an a bill the night before. New on action news, a canadian skier turned up at an airport in california six days after he disappeared from a mountain in new york. He was on a ski trip to lake placid with fellow firefighters in toronto. He disappeared one week ago today when a snowstorm hit white face mountain. Rescue crews and helicopters searched for him for days. Then yesterday the 49yearold called 911 from the airport in sacramento wearing the same clothes he had on when he went missing. He said that he was dropped off by a truck driver, said he slept a lot during the trip here and did not have a huge recollection as to how he got from a to b. He told officers he hit his head while skiing. Investigators are still trying to figure out how he managed to end up across the country.
