As we go through the afternoon it is going to be milder and even though we start out cloudy for the most part well reintroduce some sun as the day goes on. By 12 oclock up to about 37 and well get up to about 40 for a high. This model has 41 and back down to closer to the freezing mark by about 8, 9 oclock tonight. Our next big issue is tomorrow morning. Theres a winter storm watch for the poconos. Were expecting some accumulating snow. Theres a Winter Weather advisory out in Lancaster County and i dont think its out of the question that we start to see some of these counties added as well. Whats going to happen is that early tomorrow morning early in the rush hour well see a wintry mix of snow, sleet, maybe a little freezing rain before a changeover to rain and that will push all the way newspaper allentown around midday but these areas could be a little slippery for the morning commute. As we take a look outside, we are looking at a cold start with some clouds around over the ben franklin bridge, although that should change to some degree as we go through the day as were expecting a little bit more sun to come back later on. The temperature profile right now is a cold one, though. 28 degrees in philadelphia. 24 degrees in allentown. 24 in reading. 26 degrees currently in trenton. 27 in wilmington and 24 in millville. A little bit of a breeze, not much of one, but obviously coat weather this morning. So here come the clouds overnight. They have filled in. Now there are some breaks to the west and again we do expect early clouds to give way to some increase in sunshine today. Well call it increasing sun in the lehigh valley. Not that i necessarily think youre going to see totally blue skies but it should get a little brighter later. Less wind than yesterday. 35 is the high and down the shore 42 degrees, clouds giving way to sun, less wind and milder than yesterday. And in philadelphia, an increase in that temperature. Were going to 40 for a high and with less wind and some sun coming back it should feel pretty nice. Winds only running about six to 12 miles per hour. Overnight tonight more clouds build in and its cold again an overnight low of 28, maybe a few degrees better than this morning and winds are expected to remain fairly light. Tomorrow morning we do have an issue, though. At 5 00 in the morning well have our eyes out to the west where some snow and some mixed precipitation will be building in. And by about 6, 7 oclock we expect this to overtake the i95 corridor. Its probably mainly rain down south but look for a mix of snow and sleet in through here. And maybe all snow to start out up in allentown and the poconos. Then we go to 9 oclock and this does have a chance to start to lift to the north but any places that did get some of those slippery conditions probably still looking at some of that by 9 oclock and definitely up north where you see the precipitation. After that warmer air comes up from the south and by noon, most of us have changed over to rain. Notice how theres not as much going on during the morning down south. In allentown perhaps a wintry mix of some sleet and freezing rain for at least a time. Rest of the afternoon, though, the warm air pushes all the way up to the poconos and it looks like all of us will see a change to rain and the whole thing is over by about 9 oclock. What are we expecting on the ground . About a coating to an inch in and around the i95 corridor that likely gets washed away as that rain changeover occurs later in the morning. Theres about one to 3 inches possible in the immediate northern suburbs and some areas close to allentown, north of the poconos about three to 6 inches of snow. What you get exactly really depends on where you are, though its mainly rain down south, snow changing to a mix, changing to rain and some melting in through here. And then all snow for the most part up in the poconos. Its all gone in time for thursday, though. Lots of sunshine for the parade. Lots of people out there. And lots of eagles gear with layers beneath and some coats and hats, too, i think and gloves. Still some select hotels are offering some private event spaces for parade day. They can still come here and watch this parade. We do have urban farmer and urban farmer patio which is right on the parkway so you can watch it from there. Some restaurants and bars also still have availability as well. A former eagle who is still a bird at heart has become an honorary member of the championship team. John dorenbos posted this photo alongside his wife holding the super bowl trophy. The long snapper spent 11 years with the eagles. The team traded him to the saints in the off season and then dorenbos had to undergo a career ending emergency heart surgery a short time later. Dorenbos is not only on the field for the super bowl celebration, he told reporters that eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie will make sure that dorenbos will get a ring. M. V. P. Again winds coming up out of the southeast very light winds this morning. There are the clouds that came through overnight. Now we have some breaks in the clouds out to the west. Some of that snow shower activity probably breaking up before that it really has an impact on us and we are expecting the return of some sunshine later today. 30 degrees by 8 oclock. By 10 oclock still cold 33. By noon were better than yesterday at 37 and were looking at a high of 40 degrees at 3 oclock and unlike yesterday when we had those blustery winds, today the winds will be a lot lighter. Still 35 today in allentown. 36 in trenton. 39 in trenton;, or reading, 36. 41 in wilmington, 43 in millville and looks like 42degree highs down the shore today. Tomorrow morning well cloud up quickly and by 5 00 in the morning well have our eyes out to the west as there will be some precipitation coming in. By about 6 30 or 7 00 it should be past philadelphia maybe i was the way over to trenton and obviously you can see that a lot of this is snow. Theres going to be sleet mixing in and maybe freezing rain in and around the i95 corridor. This doesnt last real long as it looks like it pushes up to the north of philadelphia as soon as 9 00. There might still be some lingering slipperiness here with temperatures still in the process of rising a above freezing but that warm air will come up during the day so that by noon were probably down to just a little mixing in the lehigh valley. And after that, everybody changes over to rain. So, a wintry mix early in the morning but a change to rain across most of the region and this is all off the coast by about 9, 10 oclock tomorrow night. We could get a coating to an inch in and around philadelphia before that changeover. Then it wears washes away. One to 3 inches in the immediate northern and western suburbs and areas close to allentown north of the poconos go to about three to 6 inches. What you get depends on where you are. Down south its mainly rain. Snow changing to a mix changing to rain in the majority of the area where a lot of that snow gets washed away. Up in the poconos it hangs in longer. On thursday thats all over and the sun is back but its going to be kind of brick and cold for the parade on thursday. Sunny but 28 by 9 00. 34 by 3 oclock for an afternoon high and wind chills making it feel like its in the low 20s so plan on bundling up, layers beneath those eagles jerseys on thursday. 40 degrees, milder, less wind today. Tomorrow 42. Ive got an accuweather alert for that wintry mix in the morning that should change over to rain during the later morning and afternoon hours. And then on thursday, sunny and brisk and a high of 34 for that eagles parade with wind chills in the low 20s. On friday, were up to 40 with increasing clouds. Saturday even milder with a high of 47 degrees and perhaps some rain arriving later at night. And then sunday 51 degrees but unfortunately cloudy skies and periods of rain appear likely. Developing overnight a woman trying to cross the roosevelt boulevard was hit and killed by an unlicensedthe crash happee inner southbound be lanes at the intersection with large street in northeast philadelphia. The victim who is unknown shes a jane doe for now appeared to be in her mid to late 20s. The impact of the collision was so terrible she was of her shoes. She was pronounced dead at the hospital. Police are now interviewing that 22yearold driver. Officers say he did not havelicd but did stop at the scene. A colorado sheriffs deputy was shot and killed yesterday. He is the third officer to be gunned down in the line of duty in that state in the past five weeks. Deputy micah flick was killed while he and other officers were investigating a stolen vehicle in Colorado Springs yesterday. Investigators say the officers were struggling with a male suspect when shots were fired. Authorities say the lone suspect was also killed. Two other deputies, a Colorado SpringsPolice Officer and a bystander were shot and wounded. People lined the streets as the procession took the 34yearold deputys body from the hospital to the Coroners Office last night. And rounding out here a new jersey state trooper saves the day rescuing a two week old infant who was choking. Trooper robert meyer was sleeping in his piscataway home on saturday. A neighbor pounded on his door looking for help. Meyer says he ran out of bed without stopping to put on his shoes. He found baby elizabeth blue and struggling to breathe. Attempted to pat her on the back. It wasnt doing anything. I asked if anybody had any suction that i would be able to use to clear ear ways. Luck airways. The dad did have one. The trooper used a bulb syringe. The baby was taken to the hospital and is doing fine. Enamel is the white, outer layer of your tooth surface.
