Speaking of Tourist Attractions they know this one will be usurped by another tourist attraction that comes on sunday night, the big showdown when the eagles take on the patriots. Were all just ready and waiting and willing for that moment to happen. The eagles would would not have that. Even though it ended in a way in minnesota didnt want, the vikings team owner had some pretty nice words today. Theres a surface trough moving in tomorrow. They stay separate but both bring a brush of snow. Future tracker showing this low pressure will brush the coastal area, first rain, Early Morning snow. That moves out pretty early tomorrow and the surface trough moves in during the day tomorrow with intermittent light snow. Its not going to be a major system but it could cause some problems and tomorrow night temperatures dropping well down into the teens and 20s. So tomorrow night there could be icing on untreated surfaces. Tomorrow is an accuweather alert day thanks to these brushes of snow. That coastal low tonight will bring rain changing over to snow along the coast. Some areas could get a coating to an inch of snow there. That surface trough moves through tomorrow. Thats more widespread intermittent light snow, a coating to 2inches really depends on where you are. Authorities are investigating a drive by shooting outside of a popular city avenue hotel tonight. Action News Reporter bob brooks is live in Wynnefield Heights with the very latest. Bob. Reporter hey, rick, yeah, this is a a very dangerous and unfortunate situation that happened. It all went down at the hilton hotel behind me on city avenue and stout road. The hotel staff and administration are working very closely with the police to try and figure out what and who did this. It was early yesterday evening right around 8 30. Police say the hilton hotel at the corner of city avenue and stout road was fired at. Detectives say it appears that a car parked in the hotel carport was shot at in a driveby style shooting. Philadelphia Police Lieutenant john walker on the shoot car comes up down south and starts shooting at the person thats in that car. Reporter left neighbors like scott field stunned. City avenue shooting in the street like the. Reporter like the wild west. Thats crazy, man, thats crazy. Things are getting out of hand around here. Reporter dallas dunston says he heard it happen. I just heard them shooting shots and i was like wow, they do that around is city line avenue so. Reporter take a look at this. Detectives say one of the estimated seven bullets fired ricocheted off the steps and into one of the hotels glass doors. Police say t the bullet stopped then it becameem. Fortunately the window didt. Bullets have no names and its concern when people fire guns. Reporter lieutenant walker says the suspect vehicle continuedown stout road. He add the vecle that was shot at took off. Authorities now need your help tracking the suspects down. It happened at mikes Service Center in the 8900 block of ridge avenue. One of the suspects pulled out a tek nine semi automatic handgun while the other tried to grab money from the register right there. Now when the employee tried to run away he was beaten and kicked. Its a motorcycle crash here in the westbound lanes just past girard avenue as you head toward montgomery. The bike is right here on its side. Now theres a fire truck and an ambulance on the scene so two lanes bloc blocked, only one lane gets by coming out of center city on the westbound side of 76, the schuylkill expressway, which as you can imagine does not do good things to the traffic. Were jammed as you come west of University Avenue so coming out of the city this afternoon, i would use the river drives, even lancaster avenue, the westbound side of 76 right there is not where you want to be. Had a crash earlier on 95 in south philadelphia. Northbound side approaching the walt whitman bridge. Thats now all off to the side but speeds are still around 11 Miles Per Hour as you come north of the airport. The platt bridge is busy but would be better or think about using the passyunk avenue drawbridge as another alternate to the girard point. Haddon heights crash on 295 southbound approaching 168 off to the side. Still slow coming down from 73. Patco resumed service, trains not running as frequently as normal but they are running every 20 minutes this afternoon and making all stops. After two days of temperatures in the 50s over the weekend were in the 43 degrees in philadelphia. Normal high for this time of the year is 41. So seasonable. Allentown 43. Trenton 41. Atlantic city airport in pomona 40 and wilmington 43. Satellite and radar showing the clouds are in place. We have two systems im tracking. One is low pressure. Its off the coast. This is what is bringing some light rain along the shore right now and theres another piece of energy whats known as an inverted trough thats moving in from the midwest. This is what will bring us more widespread intermittent light snow through the day tomorrow. So future tracker showing looks like the morning commute should be okay for most of the viewing area. Lots of clouds and we will see some showers, some snow showers developing in our far western suburbs around 8 oclock in the morning. This continues to push to the east by about lunchtime around philadelphia. Notice were not looking at a loot of heavy snow, just intermittent bands of generally light snow pushing through the coast and beginning to move off by about 4 30. So its a quick hit. The ground is pretty warm with temperatures in the 50s over the weekend so its going have trouble sticking. So snowfall totals lakehurst Burlington Ocean county from the coastal low thats currently bringing rain it will switch over to snow overnight could get a quick one to 2 inches. Most of our viewing area from that trough tomorrow, that intermittent light snow were looking at a coating to 1 inch but our far north and west communities, northern chester county, the Higher Elevation of upper bucks Montgomery County all areas northwest including Lehigh Valley and the poconos one to 2 inches. This is also where temperatures will be cooler and the roads could get covered. If you are heading to minneapolis take the layers. Take lots of them. The next two days temperatures not bad in the 20s but then as we head into the middle of the week we really drop. Generally afternoon highs only in the Single Digits and teens. Reaction from loved ones as Police Search for the suspect who pulled the trigger. For the first time in weeks, four children were able to go to school today. Hear their story and how a Community Support made it all possible. Plus, from cheese to pretzels even cake, the eagles super bowl journey has inspired a new wave of food options for philadelphia. And now the details. A community in berks county rocked. Walter perez spoke to one of the victims mother and he joins us live from readington night with more. Walter. Reporter rick, well give you a live look at the scene right now. As you can see, police are still here along with lots of friends and family bringing balloons and candles as well. Investigators say they believe the victims were targeted in this case. All were shot repeatedly and police Officials Say it has been a long time since theyve investigated a murder case of this magnitude in reading. Family and friends came together today outside the apartment where four young men were murdered last evening. They gathered to remember the victims and grieve their loss. The four victims were murdered during what reading Police Officials describe as the worst shooting theyve investigated in a long time. We cannot remember any time in recent history where this many people were shot at one time. Reporter among those killed was 23yearold juan rodriguez. We spoke with his mother who says her son was working through serious medical problems to continue his education. He a survivor because he went through a liver transplant only 11 months ago. He been in college. He stop the college because he had a liver problem. And now this now that happen. Reporter also killed were jar lynn tejada and Joshua Santos both 20 years old. The fourth victim has not yet been identified. It occurred at about 6 45 last evening. Someone or possibly a group of people opened fire inside the apartment at 123 south third street. Three were pronounced dead at the scene. The fourth died a short time later at reading hospital. Family and friends say they have no idea why anyone would want to kill those four young men. He was a good kid. He was working. Hes a amazing son. All i know that none of this had to happen this early. All they want to do is live life. Reporter back out live on the scene here until yesterday, there was only one reported murder in the city of reading for 2018, now there are five. So far at this point no suspects and no arrests. The search is on for a woman who police say abducted another woman and held her at knife point. Police say the 28yearold victim was in the walmart parking lot here in the 4600 block of roosevelt boulevard. It happened in philadelphias somerdale section about 7 45 last thursday night. That is when an unknown woman approached her with a knife. They say the suspect forced the victim into the other car and made her drive to the 6400 block of rising sun avenue to withdraw 500. If you recognize the woman you are asked to call police. A new Jersey Police officer was miraculously uninjured after a vehicle slammed into his patrol car during a traffic stop. Put on there by the vehicle manufacturer the Pennsville PoliceDepartment Posted this body cam video from the incidents friday night on south broad way in pennsville township salem county. Police say a woman drove into the patrol car which then hit the vehicle that was stopped. The woman was taken to christiana hospital with serious injuries. The officer and the driver he had stopped were not injured. No word yet on any charges. Four children in north philadelphia went to school today for the first time in weeks. The children are undocumented and face possible deportation. They have been living in a church claiming sanctuary. Well, today community and Public Officials stood by their side as the children stepped outside of the church. Action News ReporterJeanette Reyes has the emotional story. Reporter this morning the hernandez children were picked up to go to school from their new home at church of the advocate in north philadelphia. They are undocumented and just stepping foot outside of the building put all four of them at risk of immediate arrest by ice and deportation. [speaking foreign language] the interpreter we think positively so that everything comes out good and nothing bad happens. Reporter we talked to 13yearold katie and her 15yearold sister Jocelyn Hernandez minutes before they headed off to school. I asked if she was nervous. She answered yes. [speaking foreign language] the interpreter because of what could happen. Reporter they decided to go to school. They are anxious. They got up at 5 00 in the morning to go to school. At first i was scared but now i feel a lot of support. Family has lived in philadelphia for two years. They were given deportation orders on december 13th of last year shortly after that the children were pulled out of school and they moved to this church. Theyre not even safe in this building. In church. Theres no law that says ice cant come in right now and take this this family away. It is common practice that these are sensitive areas, churches, schools. Today these four children are going to do what every single child in philadelphia has a right to do, to go to school, to study and learn, to come home and feel safe and secure and joyful on these streets. Reporter dozens of Community Members rallied behind them just outside of the building. Katie hernandez got emotional as she tried to thank them. I feel like we all have to gather our courage and stand up for each other cause if we dont stand up for each end up n some pretty, you know they could come after me or my kids. Reporter and the family has a pending appeal in the Third Circuit court of the united states. If youre headed to monday night wwe raw in south philadelphia, its been slow there as well on 95 northbound because of an earlier crash approaching the walt whitman bridge.
