The eagles fans still flying high of course after last nights big win against the Minnesota Vikings. Now the birds getting ready for super bowl lii. Sports director Ducis Rodgers and ron jaworski have a special playoff edition of monday morning quarterback. Reporter jaws, i think i speak for many eagles fans. Does this feel real . It feels real. This team has exceeded our expectations. We knew they were a good football team. I knew them the Minnesota Vikings were a good football team. The way the eagles played against the vikings really shows how good this team is and can be in two weeks. All right now the vikings came down, they scored on their first possession. The eagles ended up punting. Vikings had the ball again. It looked like it might have been trouble. Why was this key. We talk about sudden changes those plays you have to make to flip the script of the game. The eagles defense did it, made a dynamic play with patrick robinson. Its a really simple little play. Going to go deep on the play, hes the deep defender. Patrick on the inside hes the flat defender. He does a good job of getting his depth but the key of this play is going to be unnoticeable guy on the team, i notice all the time, right there, fletcher cox at nose. The back is going to go in to help on fletcher cox, not on chris long and its chris long that hits the arm, the chest and the hand of case keenum and forces this fluttery throw out in a flat. Patrick robinson makes a great play. I love patrick looking back in the back, identifying the football but Jim Schwartzs defense was working in harmony against the vikings offense and youll see it right here. Chris long who had the oneonone block, there it is, hits the elbow. Patrick robinson. That was the play of the game that changed it for me. On offense nick foles was dare i say phenomenal. He was exceptional last night. Why . I would call it pinpoint accuracy. That was the difference last night. And this play right here, he wants to throw the ball over to this side, to the left side. But nothing happens over there. The receivers are covered. So hes going to come back to alshon jeffery, hes going to run a in and go. Now, the key to this is going to be, oh, the big horse is up front. The big guys up front, they kept nick upright and as this play developed this would be a play i think carson wentz probably would have ran from the blocking. There was an alley to run but nick stays on balance, looking down field, plays quarterback from the pocket. Look at movement right there. Doesnt panic whatsoever. Stays on balance. And delivers a dime to Alshon Jeffrey the offensive play of the game right there. Foles a perfect 11 for 11 in the second half of that game. Well talk about this in the next two weeks. Yes, we are. What makes the super bowl week the preparation for that week different than other games. You must maintain your focus for the players, the coaches, you know, theres a lot that goes on. Focus on the game. Not all the things happening off the field. Super bowl lii on the horizon. Eagles and patriots. Hes jaws, im ducis. Back to you. Thank you, both. Theyll be your best friend for the first half of the day tomorrow. If you dont have one be prepared to be soaked. At least its warm. 60 degrees today. 62 in philadelphia this afternoon. Wow. Pretty remarkable for the end of january especially where we were at the beginning. Lets take a look right now at the action cam and many folks enjoying the outdoors. It was a weekend to be outdoors. Started that way. We did see some filtered sun at times today. No matter where you were but kind of a this little thaw we have going on right now. But its not going to last long. As we look at sky6 live Philadelphia International airport in the Weather Center here and you can see everythings quiet right now but if youre expected to travel out or expecting to have someone come in early tomorrow morning, at least through the lunchtime hour you may want to check with your carrier because there will be some delays with heavy rain and gusty winds. In fact, a soaking rain of about a half an inch to an inch is likely here early tomorrow morning. There could even be some isolated damaging wind gusts especially south of the city with some embedded thunderstorms and then seasonably cool weather is going to return behind the rain for the middle of the week. Right now, though, we are in the 40s for reading as well as the Lehigh Valley so temperatures have come down quite a bit in the last couple of hours. We were 60 the last hour in philadelphia. Now down to 55 degrees. 55 in millville. Goes to show once that sun sets how quickly those temperatures can drop given, again, it is the month of january. As we look at satellite and radar, there you can see that spin in the nations Heartland North of saint louis near omaha, minneapolis dealing with a blizzard right now expecting close to a foot of snow which is a pretty sizable storm for that region and that low will cut across the great lakes bringing us the warmth ahead of it and also theres that stretch of rain again. Note that it is not all that wide, doesnt cover a lot of real estate so its not going to last the entire day tomorrow so for tonight rain comes in very late in the predawn hours. Fog will form as well. 42 in the suburbs. 46 degrees for center city. Future tracker6 will show that rain early in the morning, 5 00 a. M. Especially towards Lehigh Valley up in the poconos. Well get hit first. Then it starts to sync to the south and east. By 9 oclock in the morning heavy rain setting in. You can see those brighter colors, maybe even a embedded thunderstorm or two here. That continues until about the lunchtime hour. You can almost see a little line developing here from wilmington, philadelphia, bucks county up into the poconos and just after lunch this quickly exits in the afternoon, its very quiet around here and fairing better for that evening rush tomorrow, maybe a leftover shower but overall its the Morning Hours that we are watching. In fact, future tracker is also showing here that were going to get anywhere between a half an inch to threequarters of an inch for most of our region. Up in the poconos could take the biggest jackpot which is not a good thing. This go round giving us rain for the ski resorts of about an inch up there and if youre looking for any thunderstorms that could have some strong winds, right now it would be isolated, not everyone seeing them, very isolated but mainly south of the city of philadelphia through delaware and extreme south jersey. The exclusive accuweather 7day forecast, 62 again for tomorrow with that morning rain and a gusty thunderstorm and then watch for some brightening and sunshine returning in the afternoon. Back to near normal wednesday, 42 degrees. And as you can see, it stays chilly, especially thursday going into the day on friday, upper 30s to near 40. But then we turn it around this weekend, another warm one is on tap, 54 on saturday. Near 60 with periods of rain developing on sunday. Rain early monday. Then drying but still warm, 50 degrees for a week from now. No signs of true winter making a return as we head to february. All right. Sounds good to me. Thank you sir.
