A young girl attacked by a raccoon in her north philadelphia home continues to recover. Shes now out of the hospital. Four month old journi blake rogers was released from Saint Christophers Hospital yesterday. Look at her poor little face, sweetheart. She needed more than 60 stitches in her face after that frightening ordeal on thursday. The raccoon attacked journi inside her home on the 2100 block of north 22nd street in north philadelphia mercifully her eyes will be fine. And her uncle tells action news she will not need additional surgeries. A go fund me page has been set up to help the family. Already it has raised more than 22,000. Your time 5 06. Happening today, we expect to learn more about what led to a deadly standoff in bethlehem township on friday. The northampton District Attorney will hold a News Conference where further details will be released. Police say 36yearold Justin Kephart shot and killed his mother, then fired shots at police. He stayed inside the home for nine hours before Authorities Say he shot himself. The neighborhood was put on lockdown as police and negotiated with the suspect. And new this morning, a person is being questioned after a fire broke out in north philadelphia. The fire started around 2 30 this morning in a home on the 22nd hundred block of north eighth street. When firefighters arrived there was smoke coming from the first and second floor. Two people inside the home got out safely. No word on how the fire started. It is almost 5 07. Investigators are looking into whether yesterdays gusty winds contributed to a house collapse in the torresdale section of the city. The home which is under construction came crashing down yesterday afternoon on state road near linden street. The home next door was also damaged. No one was living in that home and was injured. Power is slowly being restored after strong winds broht down wires and knocked out power across our area. Action news was on mill creek road nearly crosby brown road in lower merion last night where a tree took down utility lines. A california Highway Patrol officer was hit and killed Christmas Eve as he sat in his patrol car. Authorities say heyward township officer andrew camalari and his partner were hit. The suspect hit the Police Cruiser at a high rate of speed when he drifted off the road. The driver remains in the hospital and is expected to be charged with a felony. Officer camalari was just 33 years old. Today he left behind three children, a wife, brothers and sisters. Children that were expecting his father to come home and help open Christmas Presents but instead, he chose to work today, work in the community of heyward and while on patrol on the 880 stopped on the right shoulder him and his partner the officers partner was also injured but has been released from the hospital. Camalari had been with the force for just over aer i dont think the largest wildfire in modern california history will be fully extinguished early january. The thomas fire is 86 percent contained and has scorched more than 281,000 acres since december 4th and destroyed 1600 buildings. Firefighters spent christmas battling those flames. They expect to continue to fight the fire around the clock until at least january 7th. United airlines apologizing to a customer who says she was booted from a first class seat so it could be given to a state representative.
