We begin with breaking news at this hour. A teenager has been shot and rushed to the hospital in delaware county. It happened at 9 00 in the city of chester. And Police Believe it may have been an accident. Jeff jericho is live now where the wounded teenager is now being treated. Reporter hi rick, that 15 or 16yearold victim was shot in or near the chest but is expected to survive. Chopper 6 hd as over the hospital this morning shortly after the teen arrived. We were told that he was alert and talking. Now, the shooting happened on the 2100 block of west 9th street near engel street. A city official tells action news that the group of teens were in the backyard of a home and were either displaying or playing with a gun when it went off injuring one. At this point it appears to have been accidental. Now police are questioning witnesses to figure out what happens. Here at the hospital there is no official word on the victims condition but we are told he is expected to survive. The headline here a 15 or 16yearold boy shot or wounded in what appears to be an accidental shooting. Channel 6 action news. Officials had to check the Structural Integrity of a bridge overpass in wayne after it was hit by a truck along king of prussia road. No word if anyone was injured during the incident and they reopened the roadway after they removed the truck from the scene. And cool tonight and the clouds slowly increase and you see that by 8 00 a few more clouds and 10 00 mostly cloudy skies and 33 degrees and cloudy skies are the rule for tomorrow. For more than four decades sylvia highers is working to preserve the history. Sylvia is part of women for a greater philadelphia. A group of volunteer that formed in the 1970s to restore the mansions of Fairmount Park for the bicentennial. I am fortunate to decorate every house in the park. She brings experience and leadership but she will also roll up her sleeves and pitch in if we need help in the garden or baking goods or whatever. This year the 93yearold helped to create the decor at laurel hill. Celebrating 250 years of designing women in philadelphia. The architects did everything. And certainly want to honor them. Laurel hill was built by a woman a quarter century ago and the display was cure ated by a nearly all woman team. They donate their money, time and care to this house. For sylvia volunteering is a great way to meet people. At our age socialization is important, it really is. Its open for tours until december 31st. Temperatures are about average this afternoon for what you would expect. Satellite and radar showing a quiet weather day today. We have clear skies and you think the thick clouds to the north and west. You see more cloud cover tomorrow as we anticipate that. Lets look at the numbers today. Seasonably cool 42 for your high and 2 00, 41 and sitting at at high at 4 00, bright sunshine and overnight hours we start to cloud up. 8 00, 35 and 10 00 barely above freezing and 33 degrees. I want to show you a couple of things, the future tracker 6 is stopped for tomorrow morning. If you travel farther north and sometimes you go out visiting or going traveling, we stay dry in the region but we are watching freezing rain and snowfall north of i80 if you are in the poconos you have a slight chance and more if you travel north. Freezing rain is tricky. Dry in our area so north of the poconos you could see that early tomorrow morning. And then tomorrow northern we see the first behinds of that rain move in friday night into saturday and saturday a mild day and busy day the weekend before christmas a lot of people are running around at 1 30 in the afternoon and not raining constantly and lulls and a half inch of rain in spots and saturday at 9 00 we see that last rainfall. And we are following not one but two holiday storms. The area of low pressure bringing rain and temperatures in the 50s along the coastline, with we still have that southwesterly flow ahead of the front for the first area of low pressure. The second area of low pressure comes Christmas Eve fight into Christmas Morning, that could be sunday night into monday and the Big Questions with this second low is as this colder air pushes in does it catch up with the moisture and start off with rain and end with wintry mix or snowflakes and the best chance for that is in the poconos or lehigh valley. And so far north and west of the city. Well keep watching that for you and see if we can see a flake or two mixing with the rain in the city. Police say that a victim gets the upper hand when a would be robber tries to hold him up overnight. Reporter good afternoon rick, police say that the tables suddenly turned on an armed holdup man overnight when he was shot in the wrist. Lester age 22 is hospitalized at this hour but in Police Custody facing multiple charges.
