Winter weather advisory, we had parts of southeastern pennsylvania including chester county, the city of philadelphia included in this early, south jersey out of the advisory, its montgomery and bucks county and points north and west until 10 00 a. M. This is the focal point of snow this morning. After most of us did get some of this overnight. There are a lot of clouds around, as we look at Storm Tracker 6 live double scan, still snow falling in the Northern Areas covered by the advisory. This is pushing toward the east and at times around allentown and reading Anne Pottstown you see a Brighter Shade of white. That could put down additional accumulation, so far were up to an inch and inch and threequarters across the region. And freezing in the areas as well. Cold enough to produce slush and slipperiness on the roads. Were seeing that this morning. 31 in philadelphia. 25 in trenton. 23 in allentown were dropping there. 24 in reading, 31 in wilmington, weve got similar numbers on the new jersey side of the delaware river, as well. So areas close to the river and points north all with some snowcovered roads possible where they have not gotten around to treating them, yet. We have a zone on the ramp from the blue route southbound near the schuylkill expressway that cleared in the last halfhour. This ramp reopened. We have an inch on the sidewalk laying down pretty nicely, but then we go out to the street it is slushy out there, it is wet and officials want you to take your time, Centennial School district which includes schools for students in warminster and ivy land and upper southampton is under a two hour delay because of weather conditions. Penndot said travel will be tricky because of the freezing temperatures leading up to the snow. Theres light snow falling in manayunk its been for the last 30, 40 minutes, nothing major, the major accumulation happened overnight. In the scheme of things not to be considered as major. Enough to be a nuisancance 0 this morning. Live in manayunk nuisance, here this morning, in manayunk, the roads are wet and theres snow covered sidewalks. You can see the snow navigating the side streets. You can see the mouth of dexter how it compares to green lane. Overnight cars were slipping and sliding along this stretch. The snow started falling last night. It stopped by early this morning and that did allow for clearing. We have seen crews out making the rounds. Make sure you give them plenty of space. So they have been able to make progress before the morning rush. Before that clearing it was treacherous in spots, of course in manayunk, the hills dont help the situation. The temperatures are low, you want to expect the slick spots and take your time getting out of your neighborhood could be the toughest spots. Taking the turns stopping at lights, you might feel your car skidding a little bit because its slippery in spots this morning. Trish mentioned it and david and matt mentioned it, as well. Slick conditions are blamed for an accident that happened around midnight in roxborough, the driver lost control of his car near shellmont avenue near umbria street. A passing tow truck saw the headlights of the car and called police before towing the car. Breaking overnight, an unusual scene i95, a car was loose on the run. Several police cars boxed in the animal on the southbound ramp callowhill street in northern liberties. Officers guided the cow who they named stormy off the interstate. You see bright circles of snow every now and then moving to the east of allentown, another one moving through berks county and pushing toward allentown. Theres a second area of somewhat steady snow pushing away from lancaster and into northern chester county. This is moving through quickly weve got one to two inches of snow on the ground. I dont think ive seen any reports that have made it to two, again this is pushing to the east quickly and should not be an issue all that much longer. We get sun later on and we melt all this fresh snow. As we look outside, we have sky6 live hd, theres penns landing only a flurry here at this point. Roads still a little bit wet. When we get off the main theres slush and partial snow coverage on the roads that the plows have gotten to, some of the walks are in the same positions this morning and the side streets, as well. Getting closer to the freezing mark winds are calm its not as raw as uncomfortable as yesterday. Had a a crash on 422 eastbound side toward royersford thats out of there. Thats good. Ramp closures to the westbound side slow with speeds in the 0s coming away from pottstown. This is 100 at 113.
