The incident happened yesterday here on the 1300 block of south wilton street in kingsessing. The girls father Terrance Williams is charged with endangering the welfare of a child the girlfriends grandmother faces the same charges plus tampering with evidence. Vernon odom will have more details coming up in our next half hour. We have new details now about a mans dramatic rescue from a garbage truck. He was trapped for two hours this morning before crews were able to save him. Canning coastal katherine scotts live at the scene in the juniata section of philadelphia. Katherine. Reporter sarah and authorities havent said who this man is or where he came from. But they say he was asleep in a dumpster inside this lot when that dumpster was loaded into a trash truck. This was the 33yearold man rescued from a trash truck, taken to the hospital with injuries. The search started shortly before 6 00 a. M. Outside the kintock in juniata a Halfway House for offenders beginning their transition. The man was asleep into a dumpster. How they realized he was in there no one has said but he was stuck and rescue crews were called. From there firefighters hauled out ladders raked through the trash dicking through digging through the truck. He was taken to Temple University hospital with lowerable hip and leg injuries and that man was listed in Critical Condition. There are surveillance cameras on premises. This additional cloud cover eroding as it tries to get down through the mountains and in our direction. Up in the Lehigh Valley well call for lots of sun today. Maybe some high cirrus clouds occasionally. Pleasant with a high of 52. And at the shore, another mostly sunny forecast for you, 56 is the high, a little bit milder. And again, the winds out of the southwest a little bit blustery at times but not too bad at eight to 16 Miles Per Hour. If youre headed our owe out on the town bring along a coat. 46 degrees by 7 oclock but by 9 oclock, 41 and all the way down to about 38 degrees by 11 oclock. Overnight we see another onslaught of cold air the partly because the winds are dying down. You see how light they are. Also well have mostly clear skies and atmospherically allows for heat loss. 37 degrees overnight and some of the outlying sunshines at the freezing mark. At dawn tomorrow maybe a little bit better as we head into the early part of the rush rush hour. In the afternoon High Pressure off the coast an cold front starting to inch in from the west well get a southerly flow in between those two features and thats going to bring more mild air from the south right up into the region so today 54, tomorrow im thinking about 57. Maybe even a degree higher than that and then on wednesday, as that front gets closer, it still isnt right on top of us. Well still see lots of sun on wednesday and that southerly flow will get that number even higher. In fact as you take a look out to the west of us, were at 52 in philadelphia but 54 in cincinnati and 64 ahead of that front which is right about there and its not out of the question that that sort of mild air extends all the way to the east over the next couple of days and that we get up into the 60s on wednesday. Tomorrow sunny a bit milder 57 and were going to go 62 on wednesday, still sunny, very mild conditions out there and then on thursday thats when the front gets here. I think coming in very late and maybe lasting just for the first part of friday morning but most of the models right now are suggesting that that rain ends very early and that it doesnt really amount to much. The grandmother and father of a threeyearold little girl were arrested in philadelphia after the girl shot herself with her dads gun. Were live with the very latest. Also emergency crews rescued a man trapped inside of a garbage truck in juniata and another great monday for eagles fans as they celebrate their tenth victory and it feels so good its got the players doing a bit of dancing. And now the details on our developing story. A young girl accidentally shot herself inside her philadelphia home and now her father and grandmother are facing charges. Police say the girls father asked the grandmother to put his gun away but the child still got ahold of the weapon. Action News Reporter vernon odom is live now at Philadelphia Police headquarters with more details. Vernon. Reporter good afternoon sarah. Police tell me this is the third shooting of this type here in the city of philadelphia in the last two months. A child getting hold of an unsecured gun and shooting themselves. This one yesterday in kingsessing. A grandmother and her son are now under arrest. Terrance williams faces the endangering the welfare of his daughter, Barbara Mcgill the grandmother is charged with endangering and evidence tampering. It happened yesterday on south wilton street. Police arrived to find the threeyearold girl who had been shot in the right thigh. Police say she got hold of her fathers gun and shot herself. Police say he left it for his mother to secure when he rushed off to work. Williams does have a permit to carry. Police say mcgill at first put the gun in the closet but without a gun lock. When Police Arrived the grandmother, police say, did not tell them it was a gunshot wound or that there was a gun in the house. The childs wound wound is quite serious and doctors at chop are trying to save her leg. Rick, again, three cases like this one here in philadelphia in the last two months according to Philadelphia Police.
