New this morning, two people were killed in a headon collision in cumberland county, new Jersey Police say a man and a woman were killed in the accident but so far there is no word on what caused it to happen. A 3yearold girl was severely injured after she shot herself in the leg and now her grandmother and father are facing charges over that shooting. Good morning, catherine. Reporter good morning, tam. Doctors here at chop are trying to save this little girls leg. Police say she accidentally shot herself after a handgun was left unsecured. A 64yearold grandmother charged after police say her 3yearold granddaughter found her fathers gun and pulled the chigger. Police say the childs father is also facing charges. It happened sunday around noon. Police say the girls father told the grandmother to secure the gun when he rushed to work. He puts it into closet, its in a holster. The child gets hold of the gun and was able to pull the trigger. The grandmother hid the gun, called 911 from the home only reported a person bleeding. Medics found out what happened inside the house. The grandmother is not helping at this point saying she didnt know. Reporter they eventually got the full story that the little girl was sitting on her leg when the gun went off. She thats three wounds so it looks like the child had her leg folded and it went through her thigh and calf. Reporter charges for the grandmother and father include evening dangering the welfare of a child. Flames poured out of a south jersey home as firefighters worked. When firefighters got to the scene the roof was completely engulfed in flames. There were no reports on injuries and no word on what sparked that fire.
