In delaware on 495 between 12th and philadelphia pike we have this overnight construction. Two lanes are blocked in each direction. Reporter matt, i just spoke to a friend of the victim who says he was walking with her when this happened. He says that she was a woman in her 60s. Im not going to say her name right now because its unclear if family has been notified. You can see at this point the Police Investigation is ongoing here in Washington Township. This happened around 2 30 a. M. At ganttown road, the northbound lanes of 42 are closed right now for the investigation. The southbound lanes are getting by. The friend told me that he and the victim had just left the nearby golden luck motel. Thats where they stay. They were walking to a dennys down the street. He told me they were crossing at the intersection. He says the light was red. He says that she was behind him and that he turned around and she was just gone. He says that she was struck and thrown by a truck that had come through the intersection and was pronounced dead on the scene. The truck did stop. So far police havent commented on the circumstances here. There are a number of businesses in the area but its unclear if police have found any footage that can help in this investigation but as far as getting around this morning, the northbound lanes here at ganttown road at 42 they are closed. This is above the Shopping Plaza where i am right now in the 400 block of ridge pike in plymouth township. The discovery of the body was made before 6 00 monday evening. The scene is fairly large. It takes up two parking lots. It appears a blood trail was the reason for that but police seemed to focus their efforts on several cars here, one of them this dark colored car was carefully inspected for any evidence. Were not sure yet what, if anything, they were able to retrieve from it but that car was eventually towed away. Now, this morning there is no official word on how this person died but they may have been stabbed. Of course, we are working to get some new information. A delaware day care owner is facing charges of abuse after police say she dragged and kicked children in her care. This is 46yearold angela fluella. Detectives went to the day care on Margaret Drive yesterday morning. Thats where they watched security video in the home that they report shows the abuse. She was arrested and jailed. We are learning more about the heroic rescue efforts to save fire victims during that massive blaze at a Senior Living community in west chester. The wind swept inferno broke out thursday night at the barclay friends Senior Living community. Surveillance footage shows First Responders racing to rescue the 137 residents. More than two dozen people were hurt. A 92yearold man his 89yearold wife, 85yearold woman and a 93yearold woman remain unaccounted for. The firefighters told me that they kept going back in there until their helmets were melting and cracked. Police officers were running in there without any breathing apparatus.
