By noon, 62 and by 3 oclock, thats your high, 67 degrees. So, yesterday we got 75. Today cooler, little bit on the breezy side at times and by 7 oclock, were all the way down to 60. If youre dressing the kids for the bus stop this morning, well, it is going to be on the cool side. Cooler than it was yesterday. So, a little heavier jacket. 54 degrees in center city and 50 with a few clouds mixing with some early sunshine in some of the outlying suburbs. Construction crews have cleared. Theyre return again tonight at 9 oclock. Theyre going to cause restrictions at 9 00 on the schuylkill eastbound and then shut it down at 11 00. Once again well be dealing with the eastbound construction on the schuylkill. On the big picture no other major issues on your majors. I95 and northbound past the walt whitman bridge we have a disabled vehicle causing a little bit of an issue. In headhouse square we have been talking about the problem, Katherine Scott has been on the scene with the fire location and crews are on Second Street between lombard and south street there so watch for that. Breaking right now, smoke and flames are pouring from a popular restaurant on south street. Dozens of firefighters are, wouldingworking the scene at bridget foys and the apartments above it. Heres a look from our society hill sky6 camera. The plays is still sending smoke in the skies over over. Katherine scott joins us live from the scene of the fire fight right now. Katherine. Reporter matt, thats ths has been a very, very stubborn fire for firefighters here and theyve been working on this for hours now and you can still see some smoke. You can still see flames. The commissioner says one firefighter was taken to the hospital as a precaution but there are no reports of any serious injuries. Still, theres quite a it were of bit of damage the extent of which we dont know because the flames keep flaring up. 11 people have been displaced from nearby apartments. Headhouse square where were standing is all blocked off with fire trucks and Emergency Personnel nell the call about the fire came in shortly after 1 15 this morning. Fire reported in the basement of the popular restaurant bridget foys on the 200 block of south street. Firefighters arrived to heavy smoke in the basement. More than 100 firefighters responded. The restaurant closes at 10 00 p. M. On tuesdays and were told the restaurant was shut down at the time that the fire broke out. Fire crews started with an interior attack. The commissioner said it was a deep seated fire. They started to extinguish it but there was Poor Visibility inside. The threat of interior collapse and it was just too dangerous for crews to stay there so they pulled everyone out and started attacking the flames from the outside working to prevent the spread to surrounding buildings. People from surrounding streets spotted the smoke and they came running. Came over, saw some smoke ran over to this location before a couple of the fire trucks actually begun to show up. Came over, smoke billowing out all of the windows. I parked my cab and was coming to look. I see the smoke everywhere. There was smoke coming out from the residence first and then i saw the smoke coming through the top. Reporter . Reporter and back here live at the scene of the fire at bridget foys, the restaurant is a popular spot. It opened in the late 70s. Now there is extensive damage here and you can still see firefighters blasting water on some of the hot spots that keep flaring up. Flames flaring up and smoke billowing into the sky sky red paw relief is on the scene assisting affected pets. They say two dogs from the groomer next door died in this fire. The sounds of an argument ended with the crack of gunfire in south philadelphia and two young men both of them just 16 were left to die on the street. Action News Reporter Jeanette Reyes is live now outside of Police Headquarters with the latest on the hunt for their assailant. Good morning, jeanette. Reporter good morning, tam. These are just the latest homicides in the city. At this time as you mentioned just two young boys, 16 years old. Witnesses say they did hear a Heated Exchange before the gunfire. Police say they arrived to find the two boys on the street. Dispatch received numerous calls just minutes before about those gunshots around 8 30 in the evening along the 2300 block of south 12th street. This is near ritner street. Now, they arrived on scene as i mentioned, they found the boys with gunshot wounds to their chest and took them in Police Cruisers to Jefferson Hospital where they were pronounced dead just an hour later. At this point, police arent releasing much, but again, witnesses are telling them that they did hear an argument right before those gunshots went off and they believe the suspect ran north. Two men other than that. No specific description but we do understand at this hour they are interviewing several witnesses but no arrests have been made. Also breaking overnight a man was killed with a gunshot to the head in north philadelphia. Police say the shooting happened around 1 30 this morning on the 300 block of north bailey street. The victim was taken to Temple University hospital where he was pronounced dead. No arrests have been made. It is 5 oh and a 25yearold woman remains in Critical Condition as police in philadelphia hunt for the hitandrun driver who hurt her. Officers say at least a portion of the crash was captured on Surveillance Video at 56th street and wyalusing avenue in west philadelphia. It shows a dark colored minivan fleeing the scene southbound along 56th street at 4 40. Detectives do not yet, though, have a description of the driver. New this morning, the republican led u. S. It happened at the Botanic Gardens in denver over the week. The out of state visitor says a man in a mask made vulgar comments and threw her to the ground. An off duty deputy working as security escorted the man from the property. The Botanic Garden says it will increase security. A clerk in cincinnati took matters into his own hands when an armed man attempted to rob his convenience store. Investigators say 52yearold andre young pulled out a box cutter and tried to jump across the counter. That didnt work out well. Thats when the clerk chased young and as you saw there punched him in the eye. Police say young was convicted of using a bat to rob the very same store in 2005.
