As youre about to head out to work weve got a pretty good ride so far. It will likely go downhill win gin a half hour but for now looking outside live in West Conshohocken this is the schuylkill at the blue route. Thats eastbound traffic headed towards gulph mills. The overnight construction has cleared so no problems on the schuylkill or the blue route and no delays just yet. In lansdale, this is one area we have an issue with its a water main break and theyve shut down South Broad Street. Closed between sunny town pike and allentown road. If youre in this area stick to valley forge road, church road to get around the alternate because South Broad Street is shut down in lansdale. This is the big picture. This is a pretty good looking big picture. Blue route, schuylkill, i95 speeds are mostly at this point in the 40s and 50s so moving pretty nicely over here. No construction on the vine street expressway so no issue there. As as the taconypalmyra bridge scheduled to go up at 6 10. Still seeing traffic move. Head to the betsy ross bridge instead if youre about to head out on the tacony, matt. Thank you, karen. Lets get to our breaking news right now. Fire at a home in wilmington delaware left a man injured and his wife left a man dead and his wife injured. Action News Reporter Jeanette Reyes is live outside this home on the 100 block of west 37th street. Jeanette. Reporter well, matt, it was this mans final act of love for his wife of 30 years. We understand he ran back inside of his home to get his wife. She had already gotten out and he ended up being trapped inside of that home and was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Take a live look here behind me, you can see some of the firefighters and investigators have taken out some of the belongings inside of this home as they look for the cause of this fire that broke out around 11 30 last night along the 100 block of west 37th street. Nearly 40 firefighters arrived on scene and were met with intense flames at the front door. They were told that one person was trapped after they extinguished much of the fire, firefighters did search the home and found that man inside. Paramedics immediately began working on him and he was transported to christiana hospital in Critical Condition. He would later be pronounced dead. His wife was also taken to the hospital in Critical Condition as well. She suffered injuries after jumping from the second floor into the arms of a neighbor waiting down below. Take a listen to what her daughter had to say. The flames were going and the fire trucks were pulling up actually. Like i didnt know where my mom was. I was running up the street yelling where is my mom and the neighbor across the street says shes here, shes here. Reporter how did it feel hearing that. That felt amazing. At the same time i was trying to think where my step dad was and someone said he ran back in to get your mom. He ran back in to get your mom. Reporter and that woman tells me that her mom has been told by doctors that her husband of 30 years died in this fire. She believes the mom is still in shock. Again shes critically injured but that man is dead after being trapped inside of his home. The investigation into the cause of this fire continues this morning. Reporting live in wilmington, Jeanette Reyes, channel6 action news. Jeanette, thank you for that. Sounds like a great day for sunglasses and. Great day temperaturewise. You can wear sunglasses when its cloudy. Probably not a good idea. [laughter] all right, theres no rain out there. You see some showers on the other side of baltimore and washington, theyre going to fall apart will they get here today. As we take a look outside, we have cloud cover along with some breaks on sky6. There you go. Tam is right you might want sun glasses at times. Youre going to get some periods of sunshine in between the clouds and warming up and pretty nice today. 53 degrees in allentown. Already while cool up in places like the lehigh valley, not as chilly as yesterday when we were in the 40s. Then 58 in wilmington, 61 in philadelphia. 55 in trenton. 62 in cape may. There are the clouds. They have been sweeping in overnight so cloudier than it was yesterday. There will be some holes in the clouds today. And those showers down by richmond trying to make it up into washington and beyond but falling apart today. Thats whats left of irma. Irma is no longer a Tropical Storm. Well probably get showers tomorrow and it should for the most part just be brief showers. 79 druce up in the lehigh valley, more clouds building in through the day, warm. Down the shore, more clouds, rip currents in the water and its a high risk today. So, weve been talking all week about how really since last week about how its not a good idea to go in the water without the lifeguards with the moderate risk of rip currents. Today its a high risk. Thats an especially good warning to take to heart. More clouds today in philadelphia some sunny breaks, 81 degrees is your high. Winds very want at three to 6 miles per hour. For the phillies tonight fairly cloudy overhead, maybe a couple stars poking through and winds on the light side and temperatures about what you expect this time of year, 74 for the first pitch and getting down into the upper 60s by the ninth inning, maybe a little sweatshirt or jacket you add on as the game goes on. 65 the overnight low, mostly cloudy and cool but not as chill as the last couple of overnights. Theres the wide view of whats left of irma, irma now a tropical depression and it will be an extra tropical low before too much longer and again that wide circulation around the storm will be the source of our showers tomorrow. Future tracker6 shows that you were dry in the morning tomorrow in all likelihood but there is the chance of a shower popping through. The model not going to be exact with the placement of these but you get the idea. Its not raining most of the day but when it is, you could get a brief shower and there could even be a slight downpour at times in a couple of spots. Hurricane jose in the meantime is a category one creating those rip currents along the east coast. Still expected to do that curl and the then by about saturday night into sunday, starting to push up toward the east coast and i think monday, tuesday theres a decent chance the storm is passing us by along the coast. Some of the spaghetti plot models have it going to florida, some to bermuda. Hopefully it stays far off the coast where we only see rip currents or choppy serve. If it moves closer to land that would be a concern. 79 degrees clouds and sun with a spotty shower at times as you just saw tomorrow from irma and then it gets more humid behind that band of rain and on thursday, stickier, 78 degrees and again a spotty shower. Couple of more showers and possible at times on friday, still humid. Fridays high is 78 degrees and then for the weekend, were going for a high of 80 on saturday and on sunday back down to 79 degrees. A little humid over the weekend and a spotty shower here or there. But not a washout and again if jose passes us by along the coast, it would probably be about monday or tuesday. Okay. Strange storm that one, right. I know. All over the place. Fire tore through a home in wilmington, delaware. A man died running back into their burning home for his wife. Action News Reporter Jeanette Reyes is live now for us on the 100 block of west 37th street and shes got more. Good morning, jeanette. Reporter good morning, tam. This is just heartbreaking tragedy here. We were just with neighbors as they got the news that their long time friend died. They saw everything from right across the street including when the wife of 30 years of the man who died jumped from the second floor window into the arms of a neighbor waiting down below. This is the home where it all happened. You can see right inside there investigators are trying to find out what was the cause of this fire thats still a mystery even at this hour but this happened around 11 30 last night. We understand the flames were ferocious and firefighters arrived on scene with those flames coming through the front door here along the 100 block of west 37th street. Now, after they extinguished much of the fire they went inside to get a man that neighbors said was trapped inside. They pleaded with firefighters to try and rescue him. They were able to find him inside. Paramedics immediately began working on him as one neighbor tells me that they started performing cpr on him. He had a pulse but he was pronounced dead at christiana hospital. His wife was able to jump from the second floor into the arms of a neighbor waiting at the bottom and she did suffer critical injuries but is expected to be okay. That neighbor also suffered minute nor injuries. We did talk to the womans daughter. Heres what she had to say about everything that happened overnight. Reporter and that neighbor that told the daughter that her mom was there, she was across the street in the neighbors on the neighbors couch and that neighbor tells me that that woman wall was saying i dont want to leave my husband, im not leaving without my husband. We understand she got the heartbreaking news at the hospital that her husband did die trapped inside of the home. As far as the cause of the fire again its a mystery but investigators are saying they did not hear any smoke detectors go off. Once they arrived at the home. However, that could mean that the fire had already consumed much of the property. Of course as soon as we get new information well make sure to pass it right along. Those are trying to make it here but theyre going to fall apart before they succeed. As we take a look outside we have sky6. There comes the sun. You see all that cloud cover. Of course yesterday we were looking at basically clear skies. Today youll see a lot of that high cloud cover getting thicker as the day goes on. Your temperature is 61 degrees in philadelphia. Also a little bit ahead of yesterday. Dewpoints still down below that 60degree threshold for humid air so it feels comfortable out of there. Winds out of the north at three, ocean temperature 70, rip currents high risk of rip currents in the water. Stay out of the ocean if youre down at the shore. There you see cloud cover filtering in. High and thin enough where some sun will break through at times. Showers holding off today but tomorrow well see a little bit of that popping through. Overall today not bad. Clouds, some sunny breaks, 60 degrees by 8 oclock, by noon 76, comfortable for lunch or recess outside. By 3 oclock, 81 degrees. Thats your high as the kids are filtering their way home from school. Tropical storm irma no longer a Tropical Storm now a tropical depression. It will be an extra tropical low a little later. You can see isling apart. Its this eastern portion that last band thats going to try and come up and get us tomorrow but as you see on future tracker it really doesnt amount to a whole lot. We might see a downpour here or there. Generally speaking its dry most of the time and then just a spotty shower around at times tomorrow. Hurricane jose still a category one producing rip currents up and down the east company. Looks like this is going to make that curly q down to the south and then back up to the north. Looks like it will miss florida in all likelihood and by saturday night into sunday morning its angling its way in our direction more or less. The exact track of this storm a wide range of possibilities. Several models still have it down in florida. I really doubt that. Bermuda kind of doubt that, too. Most of the major models are taking this to the north and hopefully off our coast and not right on our coast. That appears to be the most likelihood and irma will be closest to us around monday or tuesday the way things are, whoing. 81 today, more clouds filtering in, warm and pretty nice overall.
