Because of a horrible overnight crash. Matt and tam well have more details on that coming up in just a minute but from a traffic perspective to get around 130 northbound stick with salem road, maybe 541 or 295. Dont forget as youre detouring you dont want you to use rancocas road. That remains closed for long term construction. Overnight construction in the long term zone is still taking out the left lane on the westbound pennsylvania turnpike approaching bensalem. And lets see if the crews have cleared from woodhaven road. Indeed they have. Here the eastbound lanes all reopened between the roosevelt boulevard and 95 but can you see a little bit of dust in the air . They did some more milling work overnight so its a bumpy ride, a dusty ride with stones flying up and hitting you as you drive along the eastbound side of woodhaven. Still have that water main break this morning in downingtown along business 30 lancaster avenue. Police are not on the scene any more but the water crews may be by the coffee cup. Breaking news this morning. Fire filled an apartment complex overnight. Several units have been destroyed. Lets go over to action News Reporter katherine scott. She is live on the scene near king of prussia and katherine the last time we checked in with you we could see flames behind you. How do things look now . Reporter well, thats right, tam, and we do have an update for you. Just in the last couple of minutes peco was able to turn off the gas so firefighters are now on their way in to start extinguishing the last of those flames. You can see its smoky where within the last 10 minutes you had seen flames coming out of there in that gasfueled fire after that gas main ruptured this morning and it was fueling the blaze. So, Speak Company did locate the source and the gas has now been shut off so theyre working on that. But lets go to video shot by a viewer this morning of the fire. It broke out just before 1 30 this morning on the 300 block of bill smith boulevard at the abrams run apartments in king of prussia. 16 units were damaged. Half of them were completely destroyed. The flames were just raging. The woman in the apartment where the fire started said she was lying in bed, she smelled something, put her hands on the wall. It was hot. She looked out and saw flames on her balcony and then she ran out and started knocking on doors. Lets now go to video from the action cam of those fast moving flames. 30 people have been displaced, 20 of them are being helped by the red cross. Nearby wires and a transformer also caught fire. Half of the roof has been destroyed here. One nearby resident who shot that viewer video said he heard the commotion this morning and came running. When i walked out of my building which is two over the fire was 10, 20 feet in the air coming out of the whole end of the building at that point. First fire truck was coming up getting their ladder up. Reporter and back here live at the abrams run apartments where you can see firefighters are working to extinguish the flames. There will by had abdelay after a gas main ruptured and again peco has been able to shut off the gas so firefighters were able to go in and put out the last of of the flames. One person was killed and another person seriously hurt when a car hit a pole and split in two. Youre taking a look at the ugly scene there on route 130 in Burlington County as it looked around 3 00 this morning. The impact was so strong half the vehicle landed on the other side of a parking lot. The northbound lanes of 130 are still closed as police investigate. Theres no word on what caused the driver to lose control. And developing now, bullets went flying into a bar in the citys Port Richmond section. This happened in front of last shot bar on East Allegheny avenue at midnight. Police say it started with a fight between two men. One man was shot several times and as he ran back into the bar, the gunman fired off several more rounds. No one inside the bar was physically hurt. The shooter drove off but witnesses wrote down the license plate. Police found the vehicle and took a suspect into custody. 5 35 now. A man who was arrested for jumping the fence at the white house this past spring was shot and killed after police say he attacked a sheriffs deputy. Curtis smith of coatville ran into the courthouse in west chester and slashed a sheriffs deputy in the arm. Witnesses say he walked in and yelled im going get you and then attacked. Another deputy shot and killed smith. Police do not know what motivated the attack. The injured deputy is going to be okay. And new this morning, Green Acres Park in Camden County as you can see is a picturesque park but it was the scene of a terrifying crime that has a man facing attempted murder charges. This is 24yearold Christian Benyard of sewell. Police say he beat dragged and held a woman under water until she lost consciousness. It happened at 8 oclock p. M. On monday at the park off detmar terrace. Police say benyard pulled the woman from the water and put her in the car. Runnemede police explained how she managed to survive. She fled from the car and as she fled from the car she ran to a local resident who called 911. Police arrived on the scene momentarily and they arrested the suspect without incident. Thank goodness shes okay. Benyard is facing a number of charges this morning including attempted murder, attempted kidnapping and terroristic threats. Hes being held on 150,000 bail. Tam. Happening today, National Experts will be training Philadelphia Police officers on fair and unbiased policing. 25 Department Supervisors will attend these courses so that they can then go back and train the rest of the force.
