We begin with breaking news that we first reported on action news at 4 30. Gunfire erupts in a house in wilmington, delaware and leaves a 10yearold with a gunshot wound to the head. Action News ReporterKatherine Scott is live on the 700 block of townsend place in wilmington where it happened just hours ago. Katherine. Reporter matt, the circumstances surrounding this shooting remain under investigation but we do know that 10yearold boy remains in the hospital. He was rushed there in serious condition and you can see this block remains closed off in wilmington. Police remain on the scene here gathering evidence but they are waiting for a search warrant to get inside of this home. This happened just before 2 00 a. M. On the 700 block of townsend place. When police got here, they discovered the child. He had a gunshot wound his head. He was rushed to ai Dupont Hospital in serious condition. Police didnt immediately recover a weapon. They were searching for it but again, they were waiting on a search warrant. They have also not made any arrests. What exactly happened here remains under investigation but back here live on the scene again you can see the crime scene unit, police are on the scene in wilmington. An outburst of violence in the tioganicetown section of philadelphia landed a man in the hospital. Police say the man was shot in the face just after 11 30 near the intersection of west hundreding park avenue and north 19th street and witnesses say he ran a half a block to a nearby restaurant before collapsing. The victim is currently in stable condition. No further information has been released about app possible suspect or a motive. It is almost 5 05 and also developing right now, several people are out on the street after a fire at a philadelphia apartment complex. It happened just after midnight at the halderman manor apartments in the somerton section. Firefighters got to the scene to find heavy smoke and flames. It took crews nearly alfonseca n thousand get that blaze under control. Residents said they saw fire coming from the basement and they ran out with nothing but their robe. My girl woke up, she heard the fire alarm, went outside the apartment and it was fire coming from under the laundry room door, like a big ball of fire. Then you hear explosions so everybody ran around banging on peoples doors to get out. One residents was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. Nine people have been displaced. Fire officials are still trying to figure out what caused the flames. The white house is opening up a new front in the fight against heroin usage and trafficking. New on action news here, someones cell phone captured an attack outside an Elementary School in indiana. A brutal beating lasted for only a minute. The video shows the attacker dragging the girl possibly a teenager to the ground by her hair then repeatedly punching and kicking her in the head. Police are using this video to try and identify the victim nd the attacker. Also new this morning, a somber morning for university of hawaii students today. This after one man plunged to his death while trying to pull another man off of a ledge. Police say a 24yearold man was trying to pull an apparently distraught 19yearold man off of a dormitory ledge. Thats when both men ended up falling from the 14th floor. A School Spokesman said neither of the men are students. That 24yearold Good Samaritan died. The 19yearold he was trying to help is now in critical condition. New details about a deadly bomb blast.
