Happened around 9 00 this morning on the 2,000 block of concorde pike in fairfax. Officials say the suspect was last seen running from the scene and into a neighborhood behind the bank. Another Armed Robbery investigation is under way in dover tonight. Police there want to want your help in finding two men who robbed a 7eleven at gun point. It happened yesterday around 3 15 a. M. On north dupont highway. One suspect jumped the counter and grabbed an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register. If you have any information on this crime youre asked to call dover police. A delaware murder victims family and friends are begging for anyone with information to come forward. 30yearold jamar kilgo was murdered at the Rose Hill Community center back in february and the crime still has not been s his mom spoke to action news today because she doesnt want her son or the case to be forgotten. Somebody robbed him of his life. They were a coward. They took him from his children. They took him from his family and im pretty sure that they have a family, too. Chopper 6hd is over a shell gas station where Authorities Say a customer found an attendant lying on the ground with a gunshot wound. This is along the 2500 block of route 41 near milltown road. Investigators are not releasing the condition of the gas station attendant or who may have shot him. Well thats whats prompting car maker Fiat Chrysler to recall more than 1 million popular vehicles tonight. They say hackers have figured out a way how to break into the cars Computer System to make the vehicles do whatever they want it to do. Reporter yeah, well, Chrysler Jeep dodge dealerships like this one here in cherry hill are in the middle of this massive recall the first of its kind. Some of their customers actually started coming in looking for a fix even before the recall. I was probably the first customer to visit them about this. David brought his car in as soon as he saw it on the news. Two hackers demonstrated the possibilities for wired magazine. As a reporter drove a jeep, they took control with a computer miles away. Adjusting the controls, killing the engine on a busy highway and even causing the jeep to drive into a ditch. The odds were against it but i dont want to take any chances with that. Reporter today roth bergs car joined 1. 4 million others in a massive recall. Heres a list of the cars and trucks affected. Some have been on the road since 2013. They are equipped with Fiat Chryslers uh connect system normally controlled by the driver on a screen on the dashboard. The car maker will be issuing u. S. B devices to owners to upgrade the software. Actually theyre going to do that for me but if they give me the memory stick and i follow their directions, i can probably do the same thing. I could also have downloaded it onto my own memory stick at home. Reporter the government has launched an investigation into the problem. Nhtsa says its important for customers to follow the instructions they receive from Fiat Chrysler and perform the software fix as soon as possible to ensure they are protected. Roth berg says hes concerned but feels the odds are against being hacked. What are the chances of my getting picked . Its like the chances of winning the lottery. Back here a man remains in Critical Condition following an overnight shooting in philadelphias Nicetown Tioga section. Happened just after midnight along the 1400 block of lennox avenue. Detectives say a 19yearold man was shot multiple times allegedly by a 25yearold man. That man stayed at the scene and told police he was defending himself after the 19yearold pulled a gun on him. The 25yearold did have a license to carry his weapon. Philadelphia police are asking for the publics help to identify the suspect in a shooting in the brewerytown section. Authorities say the gunman parked his burgundy four door Jeep Wrangler along the 2600 block of cecil b. Moore avenue monday night, got out and approached the victim but was then convinced to get back into his car by an unknown person at the scene. But as the suspect drove away, police say he fired two shots at the victim hitting him in the leg. That victim is now recovering but the motive for the shooting is still not known. Chopper 6hd over 52nd and master streets in West Philadelphia this afternoon. You can see two cars crashed near the intersection here. Authorities say one of the drivers climbed out of the car and ran off. The other driver suffered serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital for treatment. A Montgomery County man is behind bars for allegedly taking his father hostage and threatening to shoot police officers. Officials say the mother of 27yearold Andrew Cooper told police her son was armed inside their lansdale home wasnt threatening his father this morning. She also told authorities her son had hid weapons throughout the house. Detectives created a plan to get cooper out of the home and once he stepped outside, he was arrested. No one was injured. Officials say they found several weapons including assault rifles and thousands of rounds of ammunition inside the home. Its still unclear what prompted cooper to take his father hostage. Atlantic City Electric is feeling the heat from state regulators over its response to the june 23rd storm. Downed trees left nearly 280,000 of its Customers Without Service for days. The state board of Public Utilities says ac electrics communication with customers and officials was less than optimal. The board says the company should have clearly conveyed the problems that it was having to damage assessments. Ac electric acknowledged in a statement that it needs to improve its communications. An inmate being held in a texas cell across from sandra bland says she did not hear any commotion suggesting foul play before bland was found dead. A preliminary autopsy ruled blands death was a suicide by hanging. Alexandria pile was in the cell across from bland. Pile says over the three days they were there, bland was talkative and eager to get out of jail. While blands family remains doubtful about the autopsy report pile says she believes the 28yearold did indeed commit suicide. I dont think the guards did anything for sure. I mean, pile wishes the guards would have put bland in the cell with her and two other women to emotionally support one another. Residents in one British Columbia community raced into action to help young whale that found itself in a tough spot. Take a look at the rocks by heartily bay off the north coast. You can see a young killer whale sitting on the rocks unable to get back into the water. A yes you know juvenile got a little too aggressive trying to capture a harbor seal and got above onto a rock into a ravine and was actually trapped. For about eight hours researchers from a nearby lab kept the killer whale calm, cool and wet. They knew a rising tied would eventually free the young orca and when it finally happened cheers erupted from everyone. The whale was quickly reunited with her pod which had stayed in the area. But the big story on action news tonight is an arrest in the murder of a recent drexel graduate in West Philadelphia and new details about the moments before Jasmine Wright was savagely killed. This is the man investigators say carried out the heinous crime, 56yearold james harris. According to police, hes got a very long history of very Violent Crime including murder and rape. Action News Reporter vernon odom has been following this story all day long. Police are calling this man a monster. Reporter indeed. Harris rap sheet goes back to 1982 when Ronald Reagan was the president. That year james harris was convicted of murdering his own father. Hired handyman james harris was the target of the investigation from day one. Police were convinced this career criminal was the vicious attacker who raped beat and strangled Jasmine Wright aged 27. A recent masters grad from Drexel University who missed a third floor apartment on 50th street. Harris aged 56 was recently fired from his maintenance job here but had never surrendered his keys to the building owner. Laris was seen by neighbors entering the building on the day of the murder.
