A line of storms moving through berks county and Lancaster County and the National WeatherService Extended the severe warning until 7 00, but most of Chester County and the southern half of berks county and the northwest corner of Montgomery County so stormtracker 6 live double scan showing this the line im tracking we have 51 lightning strikes in the past 15 minutes, a lot of lightning strikes and this has a history of wind gusts of up to 60 Miles Per Hour pulling down trees and power lines these are communities that are affected by this storm. White horse and christiana and plowville, by 6 44 that line is pushing to the east at 45 Miles Per Hour its moving quickly and this is the mode, this is velocity. This shows embedded in this line our radar is detecting wind gusts of 58 Miles Per Hour, Straight Line winds and that could cause a lot of tree damage and that line continues to push to the east. Part of the reason why is the intense storms and the heat index make its feel like 92 degrees in wilmington and dover 90 and warm in philadelphia, and the heat index is 88 degrees our high is 85 degrees, and one saving grace the fact that we have a lot of cloud cover and it has been limiting the daytime heating and you can see the call line, associated with the prefrontal troth and a cold front to the west and i dont think well see more Severe Weather. Future tracker timing out these storms at 8 00 moving towards the philadelphia area and then it moves quickly by 10 00 hitting the coast and shortly after midnight this system is out of here and drier air moves in and the weekend is looking really nice, until 11 00 we are under the risk of strong thunderstorms what this means frequent lightning and damaging bow echos meaning Straight Line wins and the humidity is so high and a slight risk of an isolated tornado a 5 chance and what is very low but there is a possibility that we could get the veering and rotation and that is not the main concern right now, if you head to the poconos now and saturday gorgeous, a beautiful weekend in the poconos with a how of 82 degrees, a great afternoon today in ocean city, meteorologist, Melissa Magee, is hanging out in the water you have been having a lot of fun out there.
