Were looking live at the ben franklin bridge and once again this morning were talking about the patco construction thats taking out the westbound right lane. If you know traffic moving in that right lane and this is the case around the clock for the next few months. What that means is just three lanes coming into the city for the rest of your summer morning rush hours. They are going to be busy rush hours. Already were starting to see a little slowing here on the downside of the ben headed towards eighth and vine. Also busy on 95, just normal stuff here on the southbound side approaching cottman. Then you back up again from the betsy ross bridge on into girard avenue. This is the schuylkill with the eastbound delay starting to form from just past the roosevelt boulevard through this point at montgomery in towards sense the vine street expressway. Good morning america will have more on the investigation into the deadly crash coming up right after action news. Dave murphy, could be strong storms later hm. Could be some some drenchers. Gusty winds, maybe but the big issue is going to be drenchers in this humid air mass. Right now we are dry across the immediate region. Were starting to pick up a couple of sprinkles and showers west of lancaster. The better chance of downpours is probably in the afternoon. Taking a look outside we have sky6 at the shore and it looks like some rays of sunshine are getting in between the clouds on the white caps there rolling in toward the beach front. Temperature right now in philadelphia is 79 degrees. Shore is not going to be a bad place to be. Well cover that in a moment. Your dewpoint in philadelphia, 71. Anything of 70 or better of course is that oppressive humidity. Youve been dealing with it for a couple of days now and its going to be another one of those today. Ones out of the southwest at 10 Miles Per Hour. In terms of precipitation today, again something might filter through during the morning but generally speaking the morning is dry compared to the later afternoon hours. As we advance this from noon up to 5 oclock you can see how we do start to see some spotty but potentially heavy downpours developing ahead of a cold front coming in. Its warm and muggy today and at times youre going the see those downpours either from a shower or a thunderstorm and yes a gusty thunderstorm cant be totally ruled out but the big issue is going to be those downpours. By 9 oclock most of those are starting to push over towards the east of philadelphia and getting on offer the map. So risks today certainly lightning if we see a thunderstorm. A moderate risk of strong winds only because some of these storms if they do produce a heavy downpour could push out some brief gusts out ahead of them but the Biggest Issue of all today is easily going to be the downpours in that warm and humid air mass. Were not looking at Severe Weather today. As we take a look at temperatures, were looking at pretty warm muggy conditions thats for sure. 81 degrees by 8 oclock, 84 by 11 oclock, 88 by 2 oclock and your high today is 89 degrees and that will hit at about 3 oclock this afternoon. High temperatures from north to south only the low 80s up in allentown, mid 80s in reading and lancaster. Upper 80s in philadelphia, millville, dover and toms river. Down the shore mid 80s and lets take a closer look at the shore because before the second straight day you can really get some relief down there. It will be mostly cloudy and muggy but highs on the beach only in the mid 80s and the Ocean Temperatures still running very warm in the mid 70s. Of course an afternoon downpour is also possible at the shore and if the skies get for bodying or you hear a rumble of thunder you get in off the beach immediately. 75 degrees in the ocean off of delaware. Tomorrow clouds and maybe some sun through most of the day but later in the afternoon a wave of low pressure riding along a stalled front is going to bring us the chance for yet more showers and thunderstorms and they could again be drenchers.
