There is the chance of another popup shower, a drenching shower or a drenching thunderstorm at times this afternoon. Detectives are investigating two separate shootings in the citys grays ferry neighborhood and one of the victims is a sixyearold boy. Action News ReporterKatherine Scott is live outside south detectives with more on this. Katherine. Reporter thats right, matt, these were two separate incidents and one of them a sixyearold boy is now in stable condition after being shot in the foot while he was playing basketball. In the other, two men were shot and one of them has died. Investigators from here at south detectives were called to both of these scenes last night, though one of these is now being handled by homicide and in both cases investigators are looking for tips. Two shootings in grays ferry overnight within an hour apart. Shortly after 11 oclock last night, a sixyearold boy was rushed by his parents to Childrens Hospital of philadelphia. He had been shot once in his foot. Witnesses told police a group of 10 to 20 adults, teenagers and children had been playing basketball in the rear driveway of a home on the 1800 block of south 31st when they heard the single gun should there and realized the child was hit. Police are interviewing family and friends to figure out what happened. We couldnt find any ballistic evidence at this time. We dont have any description of the shooter or shooters. We dont have a motive for the shooting. Reporter then around midnight dozens of gun shots rang out on the 1200 block of south 28th street. Police found one man lying in the road. He had been hit multiple times. Officers rushed him to the hospital where he later died. A second man showed up at Hahnemann University hospital by private auto. He had been shot in each of his legs. Police found more than two dozen shell casings of multiple calibers. Scene thats approximately about a block and a half to two blocks long. We believe it may be some type of ambush or shootout at the least. Reporter so far no arrests have been made in either of these cases. The blaze broke out at the Payless Shoe Source on 69th street last night. 200 firefighters and emergency workers responded to the scene. Two of them suffered heat exhaustion. Seven stores have smoke heat or water damage. Homes along the back of the burning building were evacuated as a precaution. A new bill cosby bombshell could breathe new life into open civil cases against the comedian. His accusessers say newly unsealed Court Documents back up what they have been saying all along, that cosby drugged and raped women. Late last night the philadelphia natives attorneys released this statement. Only reason mr. Cosby settled was because it would have been embarrassing in those days to put all those women on the stand and his family had no clue. That would have been very hurtful. The attorneys are referring in part to a lawsuit filed by a former temple professor 10 years ago. The testimony made public yesterday reveals that cosby admitted to obtaining quaaludes to give to women with whom he wanted to have sex. Lawyer Gloria Allred represents some of cosbys accusers. This is a very big deal. Because hes been trying to hide this truth from the public for many years. And so were very gratified that the truth is out. More than two dozen women have accused cosby of Sexual Misconduct dating back more than 40 years. He has never been charged with a crime and the statute of limitations has expired on most of the reported cases. An audit revealed that a salem county clinic gave at least five children the wrong vaccination. The program in question is shots for tots at memorial hospital. 20 children and two adults were serviced. In one case, a twoyearold boy received a shot of gardasil, a vaccine for hpv. The boy is now at risk for potentially harmful side effects. In another instance flu mist was administered a oneyearold child. The minimum age a child can receive the mist is two years old. There were also complaints of illegible charts. Last week i got a letter out indicating were going to be paying medical monitoring costs for all five cases and were hopeful and certainly the child is going to be in our prayers and i hope your viewers put the child in their prayers. Operations at the clinic have been suspended. This is new. The mayor of allentown is suspending his senate run because of an fbi investigation into his government at city hall. Democrat ed pawlowski released a Statement Last night saying he has decided to focus on assisting federal agents. They seized documents related to allentowns contracting process on thursday.
