Humidity. If you have plans to get out there and do some exercising, get it done early and then maybe take a shower before you head to work. 73 degrees by 6 oclock, 78 by 8 oclock. Warm and humid, partly cloudy as you head out the door early this morning. And in the afternoon, it is going to be a very warm and humid one with a temperature of 86 as soon as noon and then by 3 oclock your high of 89 degrees. Theres also the chance of another popup shower or even a drenching thunderstorm. The best chance this afternoon is probably north but of course right now weve got a little bit of that action moving right through the center of philadelphia. Matt pelman, it ends in the accuweather 7day but well have to wait a cull more days. Details coming up. Speaking of Center City Philadelphia here we are david vine street expressway in center city and yes indeed, things do look a little bit soggy now. Still steamy and also soggy but the good news is the traffic is moving once again here along the vine street expressway in both directions. Overnight construction has cleared out. Crews will return, of course, again tonight at 11 oclock but for now the vine is ready for you. So too is 95, also a little bit damp now and you see some southbound traffic but the overnight construction here in the ongoing work zone has cleared out as has our rash in cheltenham along easton road at royal avenue by the oak summit apartments. They got that towed out of the way. Overnight construction and the bridge opening now wrapped up at the burlington bristol bridge so go ahead and use that as well. In Gloucester County though theres a crash on the southbound new jersey turnpike between exits three and two. You can get by. And watch out for some downed wires in New Castle County closing piles ford road this morning. Kennett pike or adams dam road are possible alternates. Matt. Thanks, matt lets begin with a developing story here. Detectives are investigating two separate shooting in the citys grays ferry neighborhood. One of the victims is a sixyearold boy. Action News ReporterKatherine Scott live outside south detectives with more. Katherine. Reporter matt, thats right, these were two separate incidents and one of them a sixyearold boy is in stable condition after being shot in the foot and in the other, two men were shot and one of them died. South detectives were called to both of those scenes last night, though one of them is now being handled by homicide and investigators are looking for tips in both of these cases. Two shootings in grays ferry overnight within an hour apart. Shortly after 11 oclock last night, a sixyearold boy was rushed by his parents to Childrens Hospital of philadelphia. He had been shot once in his foot. Witnesses told police a group of 10 to 20 adults, teenagers and children had been playing basketball on the rear drive a home on the800. Police are interviewing family and friends to figure out what happened. We couldnt find any ballistic evidence at this time. We dont have any description of the shooter or shooters. We dont have a motive for the shooting. Reporter then around midnight dozens of gun shots rang out on the 1200 block of south 28th street. Police found one man lying in the road. He had been hit multiple times. Officers rushed him to the hospital where he later died. A second man showed up at Hahnemann University hospital by private auto. He had been shot in each of his legs. Police found more than two dozen shell casings of multiple calibers. Approximately a block and a half to two blocks long. I believe it may be some type of ambush or shootout at the least. Reporter and so far no arrests have been made in either of these cases. Were live at south detectives, Katherine Scott channel6 action news. Okay, katherine thanks so much. Businesses in upper darby will be surveying the damage from a four alarm fire today. The attorneys are referring in part to a lawsuit filed by a former temple professor 10 years ago. The testimony made public yesterday reveals that cosby admitted to obtaining quaaludes to give to women with whom he wanted to have sex. Lawyer Gloria Allred represents some of cosbys accusers. Democrat ed pawlowski released a Statement Last night saying he has decided to focus on centerassisting federal agents. Pawlowski said will he reevaluate his political aspirations once the circumstances of the fbi probe become clear. Soupy. No kidding. Storm tracker6 live double scan shows you we have a little bit of precipitation welling up in that soup too. Most of the area dry but as we go in fighter philadelphia, center city and Delaware County just saying goodbye to a little shower that popped through. Some of you in the northeastern section of the city still seeing a brief heavy downpour highlighted in yellow. You can see it popping north of where it says philadelphia. Thats really going to come down like cats and dogs for about five minutes and then it will be done. By reading theres another one that looks like it might be diminishing a little bit but also getting close to reading berks county and some of that if it survives might push up towards allentown later on. We have cloudy skies across the region with some brightening over the ben franklin bridge and overall were looking at a mix of sun and clouds today but very soupy conditions as erin said. 76 degrees currently in philadelphia. Your dewpoint up at 72. Anything over 70 is oppressive humidity. We felt it across most of the region yesterday. Youll feel it again today and winds very light not adding much relief this morning. Here are the dewpoints. Even up in allentown, 72 and mount pocono has now bumped up over 70 so from the poconos all the way down to the shore again be these arent temperatures these are dewpoints, an indication of how saturated the air is and obviously we are dealing with very oppressive humidity today. Theres also the chance in that humid air mass despite the fact that we dont really have any frontal boundaries close by of a popup shower. Now, through the morning we dont expect a whole lot more than was see right now but as we go into the afternoon you just saw a little blip around 2 oclock go through areas close to philadelphia, a couple more off to the north and by 6 oclock a few more. Notice how most of these are up north but also notice where they to pop there is chance with all that humid fuel in place of these things producing drenching downpours and we did see a bit of that last evening across the region. In terms of temperatures, its going to be warm and sticky, 78 degrees by 8 oclock by 11 oclock 85 degrees and then we spend the rest of the afternoon in the upper 80s with a high of 89 around 3 oclock this afternoon. High temperatures from north to south, 87 in allentown. Down the shore mid 80s. A shower or a thunderstorm possible especially up north and 77 degrees in the ocean water. Ill tell you, if you can get to the shore, this is really the place to get a break. Temperature on the beach a little muggy mid 80s but nice as you dip your toes in the water. Tomorrow weve got a frontal boundary thats going to trigger a better chance of showers and thunderstorms and some of these could also be drenchers tomorrow, hot and humid with a high around 90. Your exclusive seven days, todays high is 89 degrees, very warm, very sticky. A you believe of drenching downpours here or there and then humid with a better chance of thunderstorms on wednesday that will also be drenchers and perhaps gusty and 90 is the high there. On thursday its probably still a bit humid. There will be a couple residual showers but at least the temperature dips down to 82 so not quite as oppressive and then on friday lower humidity. Saturday also looking pretty good. On sunday a thunderstorm popping up. Okay, thanks so much david. 5 40 now. But problems in the malvern area. Yesterday a vehicle struck the knox Covered Bridge along Yellow Springs road, damaged it. They were forced to close that bridge indefinitely. Now, this is especially problematic because i know some of you have been using Yellow Springs road as a cut through to get around all the closures along 23 because of construction so Yellow Springs now also out of commission. I think id stay south on maybe chesterbrook boulevard or 202 as alternates. Watching a new crash in they will ham along township line road at fairview road.
