Ghaith al-Omari is a senior fellow in the Irwin Levy Family Program on the U.S.-Israel Strategic Relationship at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy. He is the former executive director of the American Task Force on Palestine and has also held a variety of positions within the Palestinian Authority, including as adviser to the Palestinian negotiating team during the 1999–2001 permanent status negotiations with Israel.
