Weapon: Carlisle Crown Court heard that Harrison armed himself with an extendable baton
A JAIL term has been imposed on a man who armed himself with an extendable baton before becoming involved in an altercation on a Workington street.
But a judge at Carlisle Crown Court suspended the eight month prison term after hearing that the other man involved in the dispute with 48-year-old David Harrison in the town's Harrington Road in August last year was known to carry weapons - and was recently convicted of carrying a knife.
The defendant, of Scalebeck Court, Workington, admitted illegally possessing the baton.
