Tasman District councillor Dean McNamara says he’s happy to be proven wrong over a claim the cost of the Waimea dam may be “closer to $300m”.
“Right now, we're on track for that $158m spend and each day as we come further up out of the ground, that risk gradually dissipates,” Scott said on April 7 at site of the dam build in the Lee Valley, about 36km southeast of Nelson.
“At this point, we see ourselves funnelling in on that $158m. There's a bit of risk range around it – it could be slightly lower, it could be slightly higher.”
