PARKERSBURG — Registration is open through April 16 for the Wood County Schools Summer Learning Opportunities.
Funding from Title I, a second round of Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund and Enrichment School Improvement, Title III and IDEA and in partnership with West Virginia University at Parkersburg and West Virginia DOE’S Summer SOLE grant program will provide summer learning opportunities for elementary, middle and high school students. The goal of the summer learning programs is to address knowledge loss by students and close the gaps created due to the interruption caused by COVID-19.
Two camps will be held at Jefferson Elementary at the same time from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday-Friday from June 15 to July 9. A Math & Literacy Camp is available to students in grades K-5 attending any elementary school in Wood County. Activities include art, math, music, books, games, reading, being outdoors and visits to the zoo.
