MINERAL WELLS — An accident on Wednesday afternoon near Slate Creek on W.Va. 14 between Mineral Wells and Elizabeth resulted in two fatalities, according to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office.
A Toyota truck with a trailer attached and another red subcompact vehicle crashed in a head-on collision and struck a gas meter, causing a gas leak, according to Wood County Sheriff Steve Stephens.
At approximately 3:13 p.m. Wednesday, units from the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, Lubeck Volunteer Fire Department, Mineral Wells Volunteer Fire Department and EMS services responded to the scene.
