KOHAT: Women showcased their handcrafts at a one-day exhibition held here on Friday.
The local technical and vocational centre and Aid for Uprooted People in Pakistan, a private entity, organised the ‘Hunarmand Mela’.
Director Academics Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Technical Education and Vocational Education Authority Mohammad Sadiq Orakzai inaugurated the show.
Hand-sewed and unstitched clothes, handmade products like baskets, bread boxes and floor sheets, items for wedding ceremonies and mehndi made from a local shrub mazri, rolling pins and wooden boards were put on display.
On the occasion, Mr Orakzai said equipping women and girls with the skills of making handcrafts was need of the hour for uplift of the society. He said earning from handmade products was most respectful and honest job.
