She claimed cancer had spread to other parts of her body and that she had received a terminal diagnosis, even shaving her head to appear convincing.
A woman who lied to friends about having terminal cancer so they would contribute thousands of pounds to the cost of her dream wedding has been jailed. Toni Standen, 29, claimed ovarian cancer had spread to other parts of her body and that she had received a terminal diagnosis. Close friends launched a GoFundMe page to give Standen and her partner - who did not know of her deception - "a wedding they deserve".
