Woman dies in train accident in Westfield | News, Sports, Jobs

WESTFIELD — A person described as an adult woman died after being struck by a train Thursday afternoon in the village.
Few details were available, but Chautauqua County Sheriff James Quattrone and Westfield fire officials confirmed the woman was killed in the incident, which occurred after 3:15 p.m.
County 911 dispatch had received word of a person struck, which sparked a search in the area of the tracks that included North Gale Street and around English and Franklin streets. A body was discovered about 15 minutes after the first call was received, and the coroner was eventually summoned.
