Woman charged with using kids in shoplifting, robbery

PIGEON FORGE — A local woman is accused of taking her three young children with her as she tried to rob a gas station on Wears Valley Road in May.
Rachel Nicole Henry, 26, of 308 Ownby St. in Pigeon Forge, was being held at the Sevier County Jail Wednesday on charges of robbery, shoplifting and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
According to court documents, Henry went to the Exxon at 206 Wears Valley Road with her children on May 7 and took merchandise from the snack shelves by putting items into backpacks worn by her children.
Court documents indicate she approached the clerk and asked who the store belonged to, and then tried to rob the establishment.
