Woman arrested in probe into misappropriation of €1.2m at north Dublin Credit Union

A WOMAN has been arrested as part of a probe into the misappropriation of funds to the value of €1.2millon at a north Dublin credit union.
The woman, aged in her 60s, was arrested on suspicion of offences contrary to the Criminal Justice Act, 2001.

She is currently being detained at Balbriggan Garda Station in Co Dublin.
Cops have said the arrest represents a "significant development" into fraudulent activity at the financial institution.
Gardai have said investigations are ongoing.
A spokesperson said: "Gardai investigating the misappropriation of funds to the value €1.2 million at a North Dublin Credit Union have today, 10/12/2020, arrested a woman on suspicion of offences contrary to the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud Offences) Act, 2001.
