Dozens of hacker videos posted online. Some of them supported by corporate advertising. The iteam exclusive. If you think hacking web cameras is some kind of underground culture, think again. It is bubbling up on one of the most recognized mainstream websites in the world. On youtube. Right now, i am in your home. The iteam found dozens of videos where twisted hackers share their tricks to pry on homes. The videos are detailed tutorials on how to enslave other peoples web cams using malware and youtube is profiting by tagging the how to hacker videos with corporate advertising. We found ads for disney, credit cards, major automakers, all of them next to web cam hacking tutorials. Many of the videos showing young women exploited. Two years ago, a High School Class mate hacked into the web cam of cassidy wolf. The hacker was jailed for trying to blackmail her with partially nude images captured from her laptop. Im glad they were able to find who the person is, but on the other hand, it was somebody that i went to high school with. Youtube, which is owned by google told the iteam the company has clear policies that outline what content is acceptable to post and we remove videos violating these policies when flagged by our users, but the nonprofit Cyber Security watchdog Digital Citizens Alliance is urging google to use its own employees so they dont have to rely on random web surfers to flag the web cam hacks. Our feeling is this is an area where a human team could be helpful in rooting out these videos and making sure advertising is not showing up next to videos that show the faces of young girls and women show them being exploited. We contacted disney about this commercial tied to a web cam hacking video. They told us, they had no idea that youtube was assigning their content to videos that essentially show people how to spy on other peoples web cams. A disney spokesman said once we became aware of the matter, we contacted google to remove the ad and have asked them to take additional steps to ensure this doesnt occur in the future. Companies have little control over where their ads land on youtube because ads are assigned to videos based on the computer users browser history. This summer, published this report, estimating corporate ads run alongside more than a third of the youtube videos that teach hackers how to enslave others computers. There would be no reason to suspect anything was wrong with their computer. They wouldnt see the like coming on with the camera. Georgia is a selfdescribed ethical hacker. Wideman says its not only youtube making money by selling advertising alongside these howto hack videos, the author of the videos often sell access to the private web cams theyve enslaved. I think that the perpetrators really need to realize that these are human lives theyre dealing with. People have been driven to suicide over the sorts of attacks. Youtube told us, it takes feedback very seriously. But also criticized the Digital Citizens Alliance calling that group a fake Consumer Organization funded by movie studios in order to make google look bad. Authorities are calling it an extremely sophisticated burglary. A group of thieves managed to break into the vault of an Armored Car Company on long island. These are the tools police say robbers used to get into that vault which contained millions of dollars in cash. It was almost the perfect heist except for one alert police officer. News 4 is in hicksville with more. Greg . Well, shiba and chuck, Nassau Police say this burglary crew spent a lot of time looking for a place to break into this Armored Car Company. And this is apparently a spot where they burr burrowed inside. Police say they got into this facility Holding Millions of dollars and almost got away one with of the biggest heists in history, except for you said that one observant police officer. Surveillance video from a neighboring business shows several men with flashlights outside the hicksville Armored Car Company. Moments later, Nassau Police say those men used a sledge hammer and hydraulic jack to break in and steal close to 2 million. This was a very sophisticated burglary. It wasnt a couple of individuals waking up one morning and going out and committing this crime. And the burglars might have made off with more, roughly 20 million had a nassau patrol car not pulled up on the scene. Police say that officer confronted this man, edgar medina who fled in his own car but was captured a short time later. All the money, 1. 8 million was in the trunk. Its clear, this burglary wasnt interrupted. It was ongoing when the police interrupted their commissioner of this crime. The officer who interrupted the crime is being hailed for his quick actions. But police didnt identify him. Medina is described as a career criminal with a long rap sheet. Investigators are hunting as many as three other members of the burglary team.
