He was in and out of this area back then, working as a carny. His mug shot from the time eerily similar to a sketch made from a witness account. He was spoken to back then but was not considered a strong suspect. Things changed as the decades went on and police zeroed in on him. As we said just a couple of years ago. Searching again and again. A mountain top property in virginia that belonged to his family. We are told that evidence was found there to convince police that welch not only abducted the girls but killed them on that mountain. That led to todays indictment. I am honored to report that my Commonwealth Attorney obtained indietments charming indictments charging Lloyd Lee Welch with firstdegree felony murder for his involvement in the death of sheila and Katharine Lyon. Brad the prosecutor and the sheriff in Bedford County came to give the press conference. They are tightlipped about what the evidence is. They talked about many interviews with people who new welch in that period of time. We got a little bit of clue about something when we just got ahold of the actual indictment. It is alleged in those indictments that the girls were killed at some point during a threeweek period after the abduction. So they clearly have some evidence that puts a date range on the case. He was shot several times on the third level of the garage. He later died at the hospital. Two men 18 and 19yearold have been arrested and charged with firstdegree murder. Missay 32yearold tomika early was standing near the vehicle when a speeding truck hit her near suitland parkway in stanton road and kept on going. D. C. A at transportation meeting in Richmond Vdot proposing the plan to extend the 495 hot lanes from tyson corner across the legion bridge to the 270 spur in Montgomery County in bethesda. I would require widening the legion bridge. The hot lanes run from springfield to tyson as well as 395 and 95. Estimated 220000 vehicles cross the legion bridge every day and drivers we spoke with say the hot lanes could be the right solution to help deal with the problem that only gets worse with time. I think it is a great idea to expand and provide people another outlet for getting home. No one wants to sit in traffic that long. Pretty good idea. It will clear up the area for the traffic and stuff. I think people will pay the price if they need to get where they need to go. Jeff vote on the plan probably wont happen until september. Even if it does move forward we are look at a plan that could take up to ten years to complete. I spoke with a representative of the Maryland Department of transportation that say no comments just yet. They are still reviewing the plan. Basically a long way to go.
