The water has really receded quite a bit. People who live in the area in the trailers where the floodwater is impact, they have been evacuated. About 60 people. They will be gone for 24 hours. The rain came in quickly for people earlier today. The flooding started just after the rain started falling at 5 00 or 6 00 this morning. As the flooding started taking place, the fire and the rescue crews arrived and told people not to leave their home after electrical and hazmat issues like fuel in the water. They got all the residents and the pets out safely. Other part of woodstock saw flooding, including behind the spring town tavern. It washed away a gravel parking lot and flooded basements nearby. People in the trailer park could not believe how fast the rain came down this morning. Looked outside and all i could see was floodwater rushing through there. It was unbelievable. We were trapped. This place is unfortunately every time we get a hard rain we have an issue here. The way that it all drains in here. This is an issue. Jeff this is really evident when you look at the structure and the insulation impacted by the floodwater. This is a difficult situation that will require attention. Not far from here on another side of town, 50 people at a nursing home had to be taken out, evacuated safely to a temporary shelter. Shenandoah county fire and rescue did declare a state of emergency which will allow them to be eligible for funds to help clean up the mess. That is when the two men tried to flee but prior to doing that ended up shooting that one man in the abdomen. As he tried to run away he tells police he was then shot again in the backside near the elevators here. Witnesses tell police that the two suspects escaped down the stairwell. They discovered sudden drop in the oxygen level in the Sting Ray Bay exhibit. The staff rushed to help but by the time they could do anything too late. Within a few hours all 54 sting rays were dead.
