Kristín: Norway trolled us all this year, didn’t they? And thus are giving us the most beautiful ballad of 2021. “Fallen Angel” and TIX might seem like a novelty act at first but underneath there are raw emotions and a haunting melody, delivered by a strong singer. Many have expressed that the song should have been kept in Norwegian. And yes, the original version was just as brilliant, but TIX gives more power in the English version and completely captures the audience. The thing about TIX is that he immediately makes you care about him and his song. You simply want to embrace him. “Fallen Angel” could very well turn out to be one of those dark horses that quietly sneaks into the top ten — something of a trademark for Norway in recent years. This is by far the most captivating entry of 2021 and that’s the hill I’m ready to die on.
