THE headteacher of a Droitwich school has discouraged the use of social media to address concerns over bullying with a simple message: “Talk to us.”
Witton Middle School head Suzie Bourne sent out a letter to parents last week reminding them of the policies around managing friendships and bullying.
It included that she found it “disappointing that some parents have chosen to use social media to air their concerns”, warning that information can be “misleading or bring the school (or individuals) into disrepute”.
Parents have raised allegations via Facebook groups with some even going as far as suggesting a desire to withdraw their children from Witton Middle School but Mrs Bourne insists action is being taken to tackle any problems.
