Wittner CEO Catherine Williamson: “there are other materials out there”

Wittner has revealed its first sustainable capsule collection, made from recycled plastic bottles and vegan-friendly materials.
Following the launch of the eco-shoe box in 2020, Wittner has unleashed the next phase in its sustainable journey.
According to recent studies, around 373 million plastic bottles end up as waste each year in Australia.
This has prompted Wittner to partner with a manufacturer that recycles that produces a Global Recycled Standard (GRS) textile made from discarded, recycled plastic bottles to create its new sustainable collection.
The range used GRS material, which is more than 80% PET (recycled bottles) and blended with elastane to offer stretch and allow the shoes to mould to the foot.
