NORRISTOWN â While Montgomery County health officials had to pause the distribution of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine this week, under federal and state directives, they are continuing the vaccine rollout with available Pfizer vaccine.
All those who had appointments to receive the Johnson & Johnson vaccine at a county vaccination clinic through Friday were contacted and given the opportunity to receive a Pfizer vaccine or to reschedule an appointment. Officials said 3,977 appointments for J&J vaccines were canceled for Tuesday and Wednesday.
âWeâve taken inventory of all of our remaining first doses of Pfizer vaccine and have updated our clinic schedule accordingly to only distribute Pfizer through next Tuesday, April 20. I am happy to share that we will be able to maintain operations at our five weekday clinics with our Pfizer supply,â county Commissionersâ Chairwoman Dr. Valerie Arkoosh said during a Wednesday news briefing.
