Wisconsin Teamsters endorse Democrat Alex Lasry in 2022 U.S. Senate race, giving him early shot of momentum

Democratic candidate Alex Lasry received the Wisconsin Teamsters endorsement for U.S. Senate Thursday, May 6, 2021.
Alex Lasry grabbed the first major labor endorsement in the 2022 U.S. Senate race.
Wisconsin Teamsters Joint Council 39 formally endorsed Lasry on Thursday morning in Milwaukee.
"Alex has been very consistent with his advocacy for unions and collective bargaining in particular," said Bill Carroll, the local union's political and legislative coordinator.
The race may be in its early stages with a crowded field now assembling in the Democratic primary, but Carroll said "for a U.S. Senate office, we believe Alex is the person for the job."
