Rep. Kristina Shelton, D-Green Bay, tweeted that the proposals would bar anti-racism and anti-sexism programs in schools.
"It’s so telling. Taking racism and sexism so personally that folks are willing to keep it alive and well for their own comfort and power rather than dismantle it for the good of all," said Shelton, a former Green Bay School Board member.
The concepts that would be prohibited from being taught mirror language from a now-reversed executive order from former President Donald Trump that banned anti-racism training to federal contractors.
They include that "an individual, by virtue of the individual's race or sex, bears responsibility for acts committed in the past by other individuals of the same race or sex."
