Wisconsin Rapids City Council District 1 election: Candidate Q&A

WISCONSIN RAPIDS - The closing of the Verso Mill, traffic jams at railroads and economic growth are some of the key issues for District 1 City Council candidates.
Ryan Austin and Kyle Finup will face off on April 6's nonpartisan general election. Incumbent Joe Zurfluh decided to not seek re-election this year. The race will appear on ballots, along with the race for state superintendent of public instruction.  
The district includes the northwest side of the city on both sides. For more information on voting in the April 6 election, please visit myvote.wi.gov/en-us.
