The first significant snowfall of the season gave cleanup crews in the Northshire a lot of work to do, and covered local ski areas in a much-welcomed fresh blanket of powder.
According to National Weather Service Albany, N.Y., bureau data, 29 inches fell on Peru Wednesday and another 15 inches on Thursday. That adds up to 44 inches, or twice the length of this newspaper.
According to NWS Albany data collected Thursday, Landgrove got 42 inches, closely followed by 39 inches in East Dorset, 32.7 inches in Manchester Center and 24 inches in Woodford.
At Bromley Mountain in Peru, the storm was a welcome surprise, marketing coordinator Savannah Strom said.
