The Winter Fuel Payment scheme is designed to help older people during particularly cold weather. The payment is overseen by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and is made available to those born on or before October 5, 1954. These individuals will be able to receive between £100 and £300 dependent on their circumstances to help with the cost of heating bills.
