Wine pick: Decoy Limited Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast 2018, California
Jeff Anderson
Here is a fabulous California Pinot Noir coming from the famed Duckhorn family. The grapes are sourced from prime vineyards in the Russian River Valley, Carneros and Green Valley.
These are some of the state's best growing regions for Pinot Noir. The wine is aged for 10 months in French oak which adds color, complexity, weight and more intense aromatics.
On the nose the wine has heady aromas of ripe cherry, red currants and sweet baking spices. Flavors of blackberry, dark cherries and hints of strawberries fill the palate.
The wine has a silky texture and long lasting finish. This is excellent California Pinot Noir!
