Windell advances toward nursing career

Central Hardin High School senior Katelyn Windell dreams of one day becoming a neonatal nurse practitioner and when she graduates this year, she will be well on her way.
Taking dual-credit classes through Elizabethtown Com­mun­ity and Technical College and Har­din County Schools Early College and Career Center, Win­dell is on her way to earn an associate in science and an associate in arts degrees this year.
“It gives me a lot of comfort knowing that I have such a head-start on my education,” she said. “When I sit down and think about it, this head-start has really helped me. I have had a lot tougher classes and a heavier workload; however, I think this has prepared me for college and the workforce.”
